Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

I found some pictures of the markings near the Mine Ride. Here they are:

Nothing really special, I looked at them earlier. If Cedar Point gets something new next year: good, if they don't: good. Either way I will be happy when I visit the park because there are still quite a few flat rides that I haven't ridden yet, and plus, with the collection of coasters that they already have I can't see myself being bored at the Point any time soon.

That Mike presented some interesting info (even if he's wrong). Although he is wrong about Patriot being the name. He forgot that Worlds of Fun is getting the Patriot coaster.....oops. :P
I also think those markings aren’t of any serious importance......yet. We just have to keep our eyes pealed in upcoming months.

Why are some of these markings over in the Cedar Creek Mine Ride area? It makes it seem like they are doing something with Cedar Creek Mine ride with those markings. Unless Mr. Kinzel is teasing us, I don't see Cedar Point taking out Cedar Creek Mine Ride.

If those markings are for CCMR, wouldn't they be just a little bit closer to it. They're close but not that close. Then again what do I know, I'm having trouble finding the darn things!

Who said anything about it closing?

This will probably end up to be electrical work, or plumbing, or anything like that.

CP won't get a dive machine because BGT paid B&M to not build another dive machine in the USA for a long time so that is out of the question.

I would like to see a floorless back in FT. It could intertwine with WWL and go over by SRF. I would like to see a loop that goes around WWL if they build a floorless. I would like to see a layout not like Kraken but a more twisted one with twists like on Mantis but still with multiple inversions.

I would like to see a flyer that stands out from the rest. It can be just plain bigger in the same area that the Swan Boats were.

CP does need another woodie. Maybe they could do a recreation of a classic defunct coaster like the Crystal Beach Cyclone (not as rough though) or the Riverview Bobs built by GCI with there Millennium Flyers. Those are coumfy and smooth.

I have heard rumors about a top spin. If they added that they should add one parallel with Gemini because there is a lot of space there. I think they should have added one with maXair though.

I think CP should get some type of multi looper though. I don't care what company or where. They need inversions in that park! I just can't wait until CP blows us away.

Cedar Point's 2006 shopping list:

-1 Giant Top Spin

-1 Multi-looping 200'+ B&M Floorless

-1 Bigger and Better than anything in the world B&M Flyer

-1 B&M Dive Maching (including some plan to make a tunnel without water leakage problems)

--subtotal: $75 million

That would be mind blowing if 4 attractions came in one year. Imagine having a choice of 4 new attraction to ride on you frist trip of the season. But that is what we will have to do, imagine because I can't see that happening. We don't even know if we're getting one thing!

My 2 cents:

I'd love to see CP rip out that parking lot space in the front right by DD,WT,DT. That would easily open up some area to expand.

Also, they could easily run a nice out and back (wood or steel) along the beach/parking lot area I'm talking about. Just have the lift going away from the park; that would make a great view of the lake and a few rich folks waterfront properties.

I will flip if the Cars come out in the back. Redo WWL and make it much more compact---That Is Doable. Use the excess land there and take the coaster over the walkway to Millenium Island and they've got their space.......IMO the coaster and revised WWL are both doable for 06'....why not? But to face business reality, it will be a 2 year project.

The real question is when does GL get its coaster.?..it won't be the same year Cp gets one....does that mean 08' for GL?

"Show me a 450 in skee ball and I'll show you a wasted childhood."

I think when it all comes down to it, I take great leisure in knowing that a lot of people are getting paid a lot of money to figure all of this stuff out FOR me, and they haven't really steered us wrong int he past.

Whatever they do they do for a reason. I'm sure it will be great, and I'll leave it to them to do their jobs.

Would CP ever get a parking garage? Or a shuttle to the park across the lake.

A parking garage... are you mad?!

Maybe its just me but if you go out during the day, it may take you some time to find your car. Unless you happened to get an end that you can see. A Shuttle I could see around the Parking Lot. That would be nice. But across the lake... where would they put it?

A Beach coaster would be pretty cool. Steel or Wooden it could be a really good ride. But personally, I really don't mind what is built. As long as its fun. (We all have different opinions of fun so lets not say "we'll fun wise this would be the best")

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

I like both Rollerdude and Vinces Ideas. For once someone else agrees with me on the floorless idea. Although Vince you forgot to add taxes....lol. Anyway my question is what is the record for most inversions on a floorless? Cedar Point could make it the worlds tallest at 200ft with the most inversions. I'd like to see Interlocking Corkscrews on it like Dominator. I love that combination.

CP used to have a shuttle in the parking lot. they took it out. i remember taking it as a kid though. there also used to be a ferry (i don't think it was operated by CP) which brought people out from the mainland. this may have been before the new causeway was built though. CP invested a LOT in building the new causeway though, so i'm not quite sure they'd eliminate peninsula parking in favor of mainland parking and a shuttle. it'd be cool to have a monorail or something like the magic kingdom has in florida though!! less people would go to their cars for lunch as well - spending more money in the park. :-)

WHats wrong with that... They wont build it without some kind of system. it works great at Univesal Florida.

Shawn, I support a floorless. They’re my favorite B&M coaster. Oh and by the way- Hydra the Revenge, Kraken, Medusa (both), Scream!, and Superman / la Atracción de Acero all hold 7 inversions.
If anything, I would want to see a floorless as unique as Hydra is. Just taller and with more inversions....like 9 or something........
Basically something this is possible to do with the area that is available.

When I said shuttle, I ment like you park on the mainland, and then take like a Train/shuttle thing on a track across the lake so you could make the parking lot they have now into a park for a huge expansion.
