None. I watched all week and there was no/little activity. The pole is half up, the loading station and operator's area are in place but the arms and the the things that hold the seats are still out in the parking lot. Some stuff seemed to disappear through the week, maybe taken off to paint or recondition. The color for the main pole is dark blue, but I can't remember what it was at Valleyfair. Maybe it's getting a new look.
I was surprised when I got there that it wasn't up and running already.
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
I seen it today, when I was leaving the park from the Soak City parking lot. It doesn't look like they've done much with it. Hopefully they'll have it up within a few weeks.
Must be a new paint job it was yellow at Valleyfair. It currently looks pretty tacky where it was removed.
This just seems to be another example of CP going downhill.
Why would they advertise a new attraction, get everyone
hyped up about it, and then not even be close to having
it ready for opening day?
I would assume something major happened for it not to be open in time. May sound crazy but they make more money with it open then it closed and sitting there.

101 on Magnum and counting...
Well, maybe they didn't take out billboards, but it was
still advertised on the site, on this site, and in the
Getaway Guide. You would think they could make a little
more of an effort to have it running on time. Unless there
is some mechanical problem that I don't know about. Still,
they've had a few months, at least.

Skyscraper Was Always Blue During Its Time At Valleyfair. The Two Seats for Riders is yelow and the arm itself was white when it was at Valleyfair.
There has to be some reason they're dragging their feet with the ride. In the general area of amusement rides, something like Skyscraper seems generally simple to construct.

Maybe they think they need to worry about getting their current rides running reliably before getting Skyscraper off the ground.

dragging feet? haven't seen any of that in the shop...
another part showed up in the parking lot today. It looks like it fits on the motor and the arms attach to it.
It's possible that they have to attach the motor before or with the arm. If the motor just showed up, that could explain the delay. I do agree, however, that a little message somewhere on the website with its projected opening date would have been nice.
They may not have had an opening date because they may not have known when the necessary parts would arrive. Plus, what if they put a date out now (after missing Opening Day) and then have another delay?

All I know is that tony and tyler said that it's going to be ready in Mid June. But that's what they said about maverick.....
I was at the park today and was in the Soak City parking lot. Near closing they were putting cones in places when cars pulled away that were closest to the front of the lot. Over where the parts are stored, construction workers were busy with fork lifts and such moving things around.
I'll be back again tomorrow and will post if I see any changes.
