Honestly, I wouldnt take an Iphone if you gave it to me for free. No thank you. :)

I have one so I'm excited to use those. I'm leaving for Cedar Point tomorrow morning (from Chicago) and I'm so glad I'm going to have my iPhone at the park. I'll have a cell phone, be able to go on the internet and listen to music in line all in one device. Now to make sure it doesn't fall out of my pocket on a ride..

Why am I glad I have it? I, like many people here, have waited for TTD, Maverick and other rides while they're broken down. While waiting upwards of 2 hours in a stationary line, it's nice to have something to do (such as follow Cubs games online). I've always liked having music with me in line but in the past that would mean carrying a separate music player (and I'd rather not have it in my pocket all day).

Now I know other phones can do this stuff too and I don't mean to turn this into a debate about the iPhone. I have one, I love it, and now I have backgrounds for it. *** Edited 7/26/2007 1:50:29 AM UTC by Mikel30***

It's just too much money at the moment. Hopefully it will get somewhere near $250-300 in the next year.

My question was to kevinJ who said "Honestly, I wouldnt take an Iphone if you gave it to me for free. No thank you. " I asked him why he wouldnt want one for free. It wasnt directed towards you. Sorry.

If you drop it, it literally just cracks into pieces..so there is no point in buying one do to the risk u take on dropping it..well that my opinion anyway :)

With Demand the way it has been, I'd be surprised if the price drops at all in 18 months. I actually won't expect a price drop until after the next version comes out, then the first-gen will probably come down to that level.

I was just reading the other day that they fell seriously short of their sales expectations. If that's true, I'd expect the price to drop fast.

Anyway on topic... The wallpapers are very good quality and great pictures. I took them and copied them to my Dell Axim Pocket PC and they fit the same. I think they should have written for Pocket PC or mobile smartphones instead of just the IPhone.

And about that video... Someone should test to see what happens if it falls out of your pocket on Maverick or Dragster.

Windows Mobile sucks, and I develop for the Windows platform.

I got my iPhone the day after it came out. It has exceeded my expectations in almost every way except with the mail app and the lack of MMS.

The only problem I have with Windows Mobile right now is Internet Explorer... Oh wait I have a problem with that all the way around.

Windows Mobile could have better support for videos and flash/java script applications. Otherwise I think it gets the job done.

The day they expand the hard drive to the size of my i-Pod video, is the day I will purchase one!

A couple things:

1) The iPhone WILL NOT drop in price anytime soon. Look at iPods. Apple doesn't drop the price even if a new model is around the corner. To Apple, in the eyes of a consumer, a drop in price means an inferior or outdated product.

2) Why have i heard "if only it had more memory" so much? It's a phone, not an iPod. Show me another phone that offers 8 GB of storage. Plus, if Apple made it 30 gigs, why would you buy a normal iPod? It would cannibalize sales. (A note: since the iPhone uses flash memory they currently couldn't fit much more than 8 GB at a reasonable cost).

Sorry to turn this into an iPhone thread but I am definitely enjoying mine. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it missing some features? Yes. But in the end, it has the wow factor and the slickest user interface I've ever seen.

It is funny that Cedar Point decided to make "iPhone" wallpapers. If they're that committed to it they should make their website easier to access on a mobile device (to watch POV movies, for example).

What kills me is the overwhelming overreaction to this thing. Yeah, they've sold quickly, especially for a device in this price range, but compared to other popular devices, such as the RAZR, they're sales are minuscule. And yet, CP has decided to jump on the hype bandwagon and provide wallpapers for it.

I was waiting for someone to have linked to maddox's "the most objective comparison of two cellphones ever made."

I think it's funny that Steve Jobs is the lowest paid CEO at $1 per year. I wonder if they break it up or give it to him in one lump sum. :)
