They closed the whole thing prematurely.. They should've just kept downsizing the rides in stead of completely closing the rides. Atleast the happy harbor area and old 3D show wouldn't have been hard to continue to operate at GL...
Cedar Fair at the time had to make a quick decision because the park was losing money fast and the chain was in a very low-point.
Cedar Fair never should of bought the park. Hell, Six Flags never should of re-branded the park. But they did and two corporations successfully killed a classic amusement park.
Screw the man ;)
I don't even want to get into the whole Geauga Lake discussion, but it just sucks it's not there in the area anymore.
But, nothing we can do about it now, so how about that Phase 2?! And Phase 3 to bring back some flats and Phase 4 and 5 to bring back some coasters! :)
Why? To ease your bitter feelings?

That property is no longer suited for an amusement park given it's conditon. Same thing happened here in Youngstown with Idora Park after it closed.
I can definately see some sort of lifestyle center constructed there similar to Legacy Village and Crocker Park.

No, they simply don't have enough fast food chains in the area. I rather have a giant Chick-Fil-A
;)
I have no bitter feelings towards Cedar Fair. They had to do what they had to do.
I just hope the new management will look into finally selling the ride side.

It's been looked into. They have had bids. They weren't the amount they were hoping for, so they decided to sit on it until the economy turned around.
