Announcement from today:

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I miss Janice Lifke,I miss Robin Innes, and now I will miss 'Becca'. Always said 'hi' to her when I saw her in the park and sometimes talking to her on 'ride nights'. Loved her video production of 'call me maybe' with the CP employees.
Rebecca,if you follow this, hope all goes well (even better than well) and look forward to seeing you visiting CP in 2013.

I just realized that the last time I probably read that blog was when she introduced herself. I guess I just never think to read it.
Best of luck to Becca!
Wow, wasn't expecting to read this today. Oh well, that's life. Good luck Becca! We're glad you were there to keep the blog alive. And even though some people on here might disagree, you did a fine job.
Onwards to a new blogger!

I don't think she really wrote that much. I'd look at the archive, but their Web site developer can't seem to get the links right.

She didn't write that often, and when she did it was usually short, to the point info that we as enthusiasts were already aware of. I'm not saying she did a bad job, I think its just that most blog followers were used to the depth of the blog under Tony and Tyler (and honestly I think that was mostly due to Tony).
I think another problem is the fact that it doesn't make sense to hire someone to strictly focus on the blog. Whoever replaces Becca will more than likely have many other duties, and I feel like the blog becomes less of a focus as other more important items pile up. I think it will take someone special and extremely motivated to raise the level of the blog back to where it once was.
Just my 2 cents.....

The Digital and Interactive areas of the Marketing Department make up much more than the OnPoint blog. Without going too deep inside baseball, it includes all the park's social media efforts, SMS marketing, online and digital advertising, email outreach, and a lot more.
I know the blog kind of seemed like the "public face" of the Marketing Department, but it's actually a pretty small part of their overall effort.
It's a fast moving and evolving part of the industry. I think we can look forward to changes and improvements going in the future. Besides, PointBuzz will always be here to give you the behind-the-scenes stuff ... to the best of our ability. :)
That is pretty much what I was getting at, without going into that much detail.....thanks Walt!

It takes a lot of guts to resign from a good job to go off on your own to start your own business, especially in this economy. Good luck to you Becca, lots of success. Hopefully the part of the West that you are going to will bring you close to lots of great snowboarding and skiing!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I Vote for Walt as the next blogger!
He will reduce the marketing department debt by merging this site with CP's, so they won't have to upcharge for access to it next year!
I don't think the park could afford Walt and I to do their sites. :)

I hope the next CP blogger is less inclined toward particular enthusiast circles.

Aww, I'll miss Becca. Good luck to her though

I just hope that the next person makes the blog more interesting. I felt like all the posts this year were for the sole purpose of advertising. Yes Luminosity, Dino's, and the skeleton crew are nice. But little tid-bits of new information about existing topics would be much more appealing to me (Like a "CP by the numbers" but about Blue Streak EX: Did you know XXXgallons of paint cover BS, etc etc.)
Like a throwback update on Maggie's construction, or a "behind the scenes" mini-docu. on MF. Idk, just something new. If I wanted to see park advertising, I'd just go the CP.com or their FB page :/
^ I agree, I do miss Tony's blogs about random things around the park, like the behind the scenes photos and all. Just imagine what they would do for gatekeeper :)
Becca was great too, though. She did get to do things not even a paying guest would get to do.....like parasailing 1,000 feet up in the air above the lake with a super long tow line, and getting to take pictures!
Can a regular guest get a ride like that if they paid enough money?
