Announcement time... the delay is bad!

After all, the only thing left to tell us is what the height, speed, length, rph and the name of the thing is going to be.

Well, let's think. The big suprise would be the...Height! Ya kno,w if that's the big thing of the coaster, color and area really don't matter.

OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...

We won't get an announcement until after they play with the WebCams.

Until we have less then three, everyone can breathe.

"Sit down right, hold on tight, and enjoy your flight on Shivering Timbers!!"

Soon. The annoucement will be soon.

"If we go any faster, she'll blow apart for sure!"

The beach cam has been paused for a while now...

... maybe ripcord or gemini or magnum cam.

The delayed announcement is doing I think what CP wanted to do. People are talking. They look at the supports and they ask, "what's that?" Then they start talking amongst each other. Its pretty funny watching them say how small of an area it is. Most people probably haven't even heard of Xcelerator or the idea of a Rocket Coaster.

The beach cam looks normal to me.

They could be waiting till after the IAAPA meeting at the park tonight. I think they might announce it to them tonight and then to the public tomorrow/

I own you!

So, joe anything going on with the IAAPA announcement? hah! ::giggles:: =op

------------------
It's all in Twisted Wicker, can't you see?!

Joe has a good point, perhaps the annoucement could come tommorow, or this week for that matter. But then again, what do I know...;)

TwistedWicker02, I have no idea. All I can say is IAAPA was at the park Saturday because there were tons of poeple walking around with special tags and most employees were wearing a "Welcome IAPPA" button. (I managed to snag one from an ID ride op.) I can only offer speculation. I'm not part of the IAAPA.

I own you!

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me what a rocket coaster is. I am not familiar with Xcelerator other than by name. Where is it located and can I find it on the net?

why do we keep talking about this? when is the last time someone had new imformation?
I think that this week or next week would be a great time for the announcement. Why?

- We all knew that they wouldn't announce it right around September 11th because the anniversary of the attacks was dominating the news. However, now the conflict over Iraq is becoming more and more prevalent in the media. It would be a good idea to announce the ride before something major happens in this conflict (i.e. we declare war on Iraq), because it will most likely dominate the news for a long time. Since it seems like we are getting very close to this "major event", the 2003 announcement would have to be soon to come before it.

- The main support structure is getting bigger and bigger, and curiosity, especially at the park, is sky rocketing. Saturday the 28th was a great day, the park was crowded for a Halloweekend, and a whole lot of people got a look at the construction. Unlike earlier in the season, I was noticing that many groups of people (most likely from the GP) were walking up to the orange fence and talking to each other about the ride. There were constantly people staring into the construction site.

With the combination of this jump in curiosity, addition of a web cam, and short time span to get much media attention, I really think they should announce it soon. Of course, who knows, we still could be looking at a January announcement. We'll see...

Very good points, but I had good points for the week of Halloweekends to no avail, I do hope your right though.

I have also noticed many people gathering around Area 51 to stare and talk. It's good publicity, but they would still go there to gawk if they knew what it was. I say announce it now.

Besides, isn't that tower already visible from Sandusky? It's only a matter of time before the media makes an unnoficial blitz saying there's a xxx ft. tall tower standing at CP. After that, no one will really care that much when the official announcement comes.

Let's ride the "Sky Ride Sponsored By The Ohio Lottery Odds Are You'll Have Fun" Ride!

This would be funny if CP announced the new "dragster" a day before we declare war on Iraq, and before Bush would delclare was SFWoA announces their supposed 200ft hyper 2 hours before and they get blown away by the declaration of war. Heh like that will ever happen.
