Announcement time... the delay is bad!

JUST A DATE i'VE HEARD THROWN AROUND ALOT : SEPT. 20, 2002
Where did you hear that date at?

And all this time I thought I was riding the green train.
5 Raptor 4 WT 3 Superman:UE 2 X-Flight 1 Mille

i seriously doubt that CP would announce the ride on a friday. mon, tues, wed, or maybe even thurs. but friday? no. and you can discount weekends, too--unless the CP PR people are really, really, really, dumb.
Exposure for an announcement of this nature is usually maximized on a Wednesday or Thursday morning. Business news is typically slowest mid-week, so news media outlets are usually looking for filler.

My guess is that it's either going to be this week, or two weeks from now. It will absolutely positvely NOT be next week. Any announcement will come as an afterthought to 9/11 anniversary coverage.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but didn't Cedar Point wait untill right before Thanksgiving to announce Wicked Twister last year? The posibility of a long wait still remains.
No, early October. But 9/11 happened too...

Anyway, look at the image of Steel Venom: you can see Power Tower and the CP water tower. Looks like the make the back spike streight though.

WT was announced on a Tuesday. I think any day of the week other than Friday would be fair game for an announcement. I believe the reason WT's announcement was so late was entirely based on 9/11. The announcement would have been entirely overlooked if they made it much sooner than they did. Didn't most parks wait until late October or November before making their announcements last year?

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

Yes, Wicked Twister's announcement was November 20...an early birthday present for me. :)

This construction and everything is getting me excited again, as excited as I was when we first saw evidence of a mammoth coaster...

July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Usually, in the past, Cedar Fair has announced new attractions at their parks around the same time. I am trying to remember, but didn't Cedar Point announce Wicked Twister a couple of days after Cedar Fair announced all of the Michigan's Adventure stuff? I might be way off, but oh well, who knows. I can see an announcement soon...

I dont think this ride won't be announced as late as the WT since the Track and supports began to arrive and construction has already started on it.

Either Cedar Point is going to announce it this week or some time after next week since its so close to 9/11.

I have one, what if they announce it on 9/11 and call it Liberty Racer or something. Make it Patriotic and show what the US is all about.

Dippin Dots aren't they Great!!!

They wouldn't announce it on 9/11 because most of the people wouldn't even care about it...on such a day when so many people died...who is going to think about coasters, out of the GP.

Millennium Man, you mean there will be a seperate tax on it?
Funny putergeek, I got it!

I think Cedar Point is considering 9/11 by delaying the announcement until things have calmed down a bit from all of the memorials that will be taking place.

simmer down kids. No matter when they tell us what it is, openning day is still in May.
