and then the crane showed up...

Well, whatever that crane was for, it isn't my biggest concern b/c the ride is open today! Yay! The park said that they needed to make some adjustments and fine tune the ride. That is probably why it was down the other day.

Getting paid by Cedar Point, that's a good one. And the pop up adds, I bet you can make a fortune on those, Jeff. You know if everyone who ever posts to this site stopped going to Cedar Point the effect on the bottom line would be zero. The only one's here getting paid by Cedar Point are those like the Chief and myself who own stock and get a quarterly dividend. I haven't seen that stop because of TTD. What makes anyone think that shutting it down for the summer to fix it right is going to work? It needs to be run, tested and fine tuned in a real world situation, and that is what is happening.
Rossi,

Reinvest those dividends and let your units grow.

DA Rossi took the words out of my mouth. Working in an IT environment, I know it doesn't matter HOW much you test, the real problems do not surface until you are running in a "real world" situation.

For Dragster, that means hundreds, if not thousands, of launches with trains filled with people, one after the other, until every little problem is identified and worked out. The only reason I could see them shutting it down for the season is if they have to completely rebuild the hydraulics due to the previous problem.

who is this CPTwister, and where did he come from?

He has several names on here, but mostly went by "steelrider33". He is a known Magic Mountain fanboy who seems threathened by Cedar Point. Kinda sad, isn't it???

LOL, really? Have Jeff check my ID, I have only one user ID here and at Coasterbuzz. But your conspiracy theory is amusing. I know its difficult to believe that there are several people that have an objective perspective. I just didnt post much until the TTD problems and people telling other people they were stupid for being disappointed.

Why would I care about Magic Mountain??? I live in Michigan LOL

Jeff, regarding the press pass. I'am saying you get fringe benefits from this site. If you were constantly slamming CP and if what you say about CP that they look at what is posted here they might not be very receptive to you. You know you are more conscious of what you say here and how critical you are. If you werent, you would have said what Dragster was when you knew last year. You basically listed 2 examples over the past 2 years when you were critical of the park over a major issue. WOW, dont get carried away LOL.

So, since it is ok for you to slam me, are we allowed to do the same in return, because, you know, you will just have to get over it anyway? Or is it the typical hypocritical double standard? I'am sorry this had to deteriorate like this. I dont really think I said anything inflammatory in my original two posts on this thread. But I obviously struck some type of nerve.

CPTwister, could it be your just plain rude, an Jeff doesn't want to put up with your crap. Jeff you do a awesome job here, an he is critical of the park an more then just a few times. So just chill there CPTwister.
How was I rude? Jeff is the one that said I was full of crap? I didnt resort to any childish insults in my posts? I actually complimented him in some of my posts and indicated I didnt fault him for what he was doing??
sooo.... the ride was/is up and running today? im goin back tomorrow and would LOVE to ride Dragster (not to mention it shaves sometimes up to 30 minutes off of some of the bigger rides wait times).

Onward to Kennywood!

Topics about the ride, though sometimes trivial, get closed. Petty bickering, however, stays open. Hmmm.

No one is ever happy. If this topic was closed, we would get people complaining that they aren't allowed to complain. If it stays open, then we get veliside6's thoughtful response.

One member says, "I'm tired of seeing all the negativity and complaining."

Another member says, "Anytime someone complains or says something negative, it is automatically closed or deleted."

It's like a lose-lose situation.

CPTwister, Jeff gets special priviledges, because it's his ball. He can take it home if he wants. You can slam me all you want, though. ;)

Which is precisely the reason I've thought many times over the last five years to tell everyone to go to hell and kill the site.

The truth is, the conversation here is about as good as on some other sites or RRC, and that isn't by any standard a good thing. A bunch of trolls crying foul about the way I run this site in my spare time certainly doesn't help things. And this "bias" crap pisses me off too. Newsflash... I started the site because I like the park. I write the big check to Sprint every month to make sure it stays online, and will do as I please. If you can't accept that, Alt-F4 and close your browser and go bother someone else.

I could understand why you would want to do that. Its not exactly cheap for bandwidth... And it breaks ever so often.. that's a little time consuming to fix.

I know someone will just say I'm sucking up - I'm not trying to. I just realize what it actually does cost in time, effort and money to run a site like this. These boards give me a place to screw off on at work. Personally, if I was running it, I would have banned probably every ISP known to man. Jeff takes a lot of crap. Why? because he's nice enough to pay a bill and run a server and a message board.

I can't say theres too many others out there that can say the same (I know I can't say that I run a high profile website or message board. Just a couple lowly servers that run Linux)

Why is this post still open? The conversation is way off topic.

(Freaky clears his throat)

So what is up with this crane. Does it look like major construction or last minute landscaping ?

Westside, if 2 months on the site makes you an expert...what does my 4 years get me?

The original post talked about cranes and the ride being closed. It is now open. The post became to some extent about how there is the feeling that the moderators are some how playing favorites with topics.

Here is my vote:

Moderators...start banning people more often. It will make life for those of us who appreciate what is happening here a lot more enjoyable.

BECAUSE... King Jeff has spoken <grin>...

great job on the site btw Jeff, your efforts and not unappreciated by everyone. Just those select trolls.

(CLOSED)

i'm going to have to go ahead and close this topic since i started it. if you kids cant play nice then dont play at all!! :)

They are, pretty busy posting on their website, Dragster Open, No Closed, No Open, No Closed! Oh heck just come and spend your money, Gee I wonder why their attendance was done again for June! Better sell the stock!

Dragster merchandise selling off the shelf quicker than the 120mph launch, oh what launch Dragster is broken again!

If I owned a car that broke down as often, I wouldn't even give it to the junk yard, dump it in Lake Erie!!!!!

Dear idiot, FUNs' cash flow is down a small amount because of the RAIN!!!!!
------------------
Erie: The only great lake you can walk from end to end and only get oil on your shoes!

Also, FUN includes the whole Cedar Fair company, not just Cedar Point. Just because CP is having problems does not mean that there other parks are affected. Weather is the reason why attendance falls usually. There attendance wasn't "down" it was just lower than estimated.
