All Wheels Extreme

We have watched All Wheels countless times the past couple years. I can agree the stadium is kind of a dump, but I'd hate to see the show go away - especially without a comparable replacement. All of the performers are amazing, but we really like the two (Eric and Noemi) that do the aerial stuff out front. That chick is seriously badass. Someone posted a video of the last show from this season here.

When I still worked at the park they had the idea of moving All Wheels into the Goodtime because of how much more popular it was over the ice show and because of how much the ice show cost to produce. Obviously that can't happen now but the park is aware of how popular the show is and that it needs a new venue. I could see them removing the stadium for a new, multi use venue that is much more open.

I like All Wheel's Extreme. I wouldn't mind seeing the stadium turn back into the Aquatics Stadium though. Oceana would be the most ideal, but if Sea World isn't even allowed having Orcas, then Dolphins at Cedar Point is out of the question. All of that being said, I love that stadium. I would like to see a new show for a change, but I pray that the stadium stays for a long time. I think it's very nice regardless of what other people say about it. It has a neat shape and a wonderful view of Lake Erie while watching shows.

This is a must see for us at least once every season. Other than the stadium needing a bit of TLC (cough..paint..cough), there's not much I'd change.

Very enjoyable.

remember: no matter where you go... there you are.

I don't think the stadium is in that bad of shape. There are two historical stadiums in major league baseball that are older than Oceana stadium. I know that statement is irrelevant, but my thought is why change something that isn't broken? Yes it might be an eyesore to most people, but the way the seating is set-up, you have plenty of great spots to see All wheels extreme.

The stadium looks like crap, especially next to the revamped twister midway and the lakeside pavilion.

It's days are numbered.

Can't imagine they wouldn't build a multipurpose new venue that could suit the new focus on the beach and keep AWE show going.

Why tear down a perfectly good stadium to build another? Add a coat of paint, wash and clean it, and it's good as new. I find it very fitting just where it's at. It just needs a little love. Besides, it serves a great purpose unlike the GTT.

Because it could be better suited as a multi-purpose venue open to the beach.
Bring in concerts that people would pay to see, shows, magicians, open to high school/college bands competitions, up charge premium fireworks viewing, etc ...
And the proximity to Lakeside Pavilion which could serve as pre/post event catering.
More potential revenue streams.

Isn't that what the Luminosity stage is for? Or the JAT? Concerts, bands, and magicians can all be done on the Luminosity stage or the JAT. At least All Wheels Extreme is a different show rather than singing and dancing of some sort. Cedar Point already has 2 stages/theaters that are used for musical talent.

That being said, a magician/ escape artist would make an awesome show in the park.

How you going to build a multipurpose stadium and fill it with halfpipes and trampolines. For the daily show that runs 3 times a day. You can't. I'd be disappointed if they took out All Wheels Extreme. Definitely the best show at Cedar Point.

Unless you prefer singing and dancing. Then it isn't.

^^Engineering, it's a magical thing from magical people known as engineers.

There are innumerable venues that serve as multi-purpose avenues for entertaining that have moveable/changeable staging. Providing ramps and trampolines for a daily show does nothing to prevent them from doing other events like concert/ performance that would likely be occasionally scheduled as 'special events' or even smaller nightly events for beach purposes.

The Luminosity stage currently serves a purpose but it has a lot of drawbacks and limitations. It was built before they new how popular the event would become and has changed to somewhat meet the needs of the show to advance. But it still looks and feels temporary from the bleacher to the location blocking the midway and entrance to ID.

Hardly an engineering marvel. AWE was able to perform on America's Got Talent and go as far as the first round of live shows with completely temporary setups. It's just an added labor cost to have to set up and tear down that much compared to just letting the current venue sit exactly how it is.

Because it's not a perfectly good stadium. That stadium has been falling apart for many years and each year they slap another layer of concrete on the crumbling parts and make it through the season. It will eventually get to the point where the cost to do this is too much and the stadium will come down. I am surprised it hasn't already been removed considering the condition it was in when I worked at the park.

As I mentioned already, the park is aware of how popular the show is and wants a better venue for it. They also want a way to be able to perform in the rain which was a big factor into why they almost moved into the GTT when it was around. A much better and more open venue could be built in its place that allows for multiple uses as others have mentioned. It really wouldn't be hard to make the sets removable if the correct venue was built. That stadium was built for one thing only and that was aquatic shows so it is still not ideal for what you could be doing at that space. Look at what Valleyfair built for their AWE show and you'll see that there are better options out there other than a dilapidated concrete eyesore.

Eyesore is right, I've said it for years. (Decades?) When fish shows were all the rage at amusement parks, Oceana's structure was functional and someone's idea of a durable lakeside stadium.
My idea for what should've happened is that the stadium should've gone when Luminosity opened, and a new dedicated space for the nighttime spectacular should've taken its place. It would have been the perfect setting for the show with an elevated stage over the beach and the lake in the background, there would be a larger audience area, and it would've eliminated the cluster that the ID midway becomes near showtime. The show on one side and the audience on the other is just a bad idea.

And with today's marvelous engineering, the space could be multi-purpose. How about AWE during the day and a shift to Luminosity at night? How about a big Halloweekends extravaganza in the fall? Or Midnight Syndicate?

Plus we might still have our Wildcat.

Isn't this stuff the same basic show they do with skeletons on the luminosity stage? Because watching the video posted above I've seen a lot of that but I've never seen this show.

There are a couple of similarities between AWE and the Skeleton Crew, but the overall shows are completely different.

I have always enjoyed the show ever since it was introduced! The perk of it being at the stadium is it provides some shade for guests wanting to see an outdoor show while still getting out of the sun.

Saw the same show at Worlds of Fun couple years ago and it was just as good. BUT, it was out in open without any shading over the seating area.

I really enjoy All Wheels Extreme and would be sad to see it go. I think the stadium is really nice, and the location is perfect. Gives safe homes to many pigeons too, lol.

All Wheels Sports Inc. posted this on their Facebook page yesterday. Looks as if AWE will be coming back and the center of attention in its new location.

Edit: I realized the link I posted leads to a picture. If you go on their page though, they also posted a video.
