Since I couldn't find a topic on this (and please don't go back 8 years to prove me wrong), I decided to make this separate topic for the All Wheels Extreme show and Stadium. I just wanted to see what other people thought about the show and the facility.
In my opinion, I don't think the show is all that great. Are they skilled professionals? Yes. Worth a whole stadium? No. Therefore I feel CP should take advantage of this prime real estate and use it more efficiently. The past few years they've taken the initiative to open up views to the lake and beach by building Windseeker, Gatekeeper, Lakeside Pavilion, and updating Hotel Breakers. To keep the theme and to continue the Wicked Twister midway renovation, I would propose something new for this area. Particularly a family friendly restaurant with views of the beach. This makes a lot of sense considering the Joe Cool Cafe nearby will be closing at the end of this season, (view respective thread for more details).
So what are your thoughts? Do you like the show and stadium as is, or would you rather see something different in this location? If so, what?
I like this show. I would be upset if they removed it. And IIRC, the park said it's their most popular show, so there's no reason for them to get rid of it.

Honestly, the biggest complaint against the venue I have is the same complaint I had against Disaster Transport. Good show, serves its purpose, but obstructive structure and terrible location.
To this day I don't get why for some 20-odd years, Cedar Point seemed to be trying to do anything possible to disguise the fact that they were a lakefront park.
I forgot to include my other proposition. This was to relocate it to be part of Celebration plaza if it wasn't totally done away with. The stage would be somewhat elongated to provide space to do all sorts of tricks. The ramps could easily be torn down for the nightly luminosity events, and AWE can be a daily performance for the mid day rush.
AWE is in that location because it's a relatively low cost production in a facility that already existed and was left empty once the tanks were drained for the last time. It likely doesn't cost much to continue to operate the show and venue in this format so they won't be in a hurry to tear it down and relocate.
Now, if they had a compelling use for the site for a new attraction, then they could justify the removal. Until then? They have other places that would likely better deserve capital expenditures.
My kids enjoy it and we usually watch once per season. I see no reason to get rid of it but I wouldn't be heart broken if it left either.
I really do like the idea of figuring out how to do the All Wheels show on the Luminosity stage. That stage sits vacant all day long and sucks the life out of that midway, and All Wheels fails to get the attention it deserves because it does not sound like such an entertaining show. But if it were out on the midway where people could 'stumble upon' it, it would probably be even more popular than it already is...

I love All Wheels Extreme. Without a doubt it is my favorite show and very interactive. However, I think the stadium is ugly, and agree it is a prime location for somethings great. But where on earth would they put Windseeker's evac death contraction looking thing? :)
With that said, I will happily vote against moving AWE to Celebration Plaza. It's a big enough hassle trying to get through that area during Luminosity at night because people don't know how to walk straight or move out of the way. During the day would be even worse.

Maybe the new blue streak midway will help the problem?

The new Blue Streak midway will not be connected to Celebration Plaza.

I happen to like All Wheels Extreme a lot. I agree with Dave, having it in Celebration Plaza would likely make the show very popular as I think the show is as entertaining as Skeleton Crew is. That said though, I don't think the half pipes and ramps on that show are compatible with the Luminosity stage and it certainly would not be practical to take those down and put them back up everyday anyway. The show works fine at the stadium, and the stadium does have a very nice view of the beach when you're in the audience watching the show.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I think AWE is one of the more interesting daytime summer shows at CP and definitely worthy of having. I do agree the stadium is an eyesore and blocks the beach view from the midway, but I'm not sure I'd ditch the show in order to ditch the stadium - especially since they just ditched the IMAX/Good Time Theater so recently. The view of the beach, Wicked Twister, and the show from WITHIN the stadium is actually kind of cool I think.
I think they missed an opportunity with Valravn to bulldoze Cedars and sort of re-imagine the Luminosity area in terms of better viewing, better guest traffic flow, maybe a big food building, etc. It's hard to second guess CP P&D as they've done some really cool stuff in the past, but this project just seems kind of uninspired.

I like the show but if you look at pics from when it first started it had a clean look to it, now everything is spray painted neon colors and they have parts bolted to the stage. Show is good, but stage looks cheesy/ trashy I think.
I agree completely on making AWE more visible to passing crowds. We watch the show quite a few times a season, always a good time.
Like the poster a couple above me I really thought that with the introduction of Valravn and the new exit out of the Blue Streak midway (Valravn midway now?) the park would reimagine the luminosity stage and the traffic flow through there. Hopefully something is planned in the future, because walking through there at 5 or 9:30 sucks.
I'm definitely for AWE going to the luminosity stage. I'd like to watch it, but I'd rather go on rides.

This topic convinced me to make an account and post. If the stadium goes, there is another problem. Live E had two onsite storage places for extra tech gear (lights, amps, cables etc.): the Good Time and the Stadium. Now it is down to just the stadium.
Instead of moving All wheels extreme over to celebration plaza, why don't they just tear down the stadium and build a more ground level stage similar to Luminosity right there next to Wicked Twister. That would be my idea for Cedar Point. Personally I don't mind the stadium. As far as the Windseeker evac system, move that over by Gemini where they have guests park. It wouldn't take up that much parking.
And when Windseeker gets stuck and shuts down with a fast moving thunderstorm rolling in, would you want the evac platform over by Gemini?
EEk.
Yeah.. Being emergency evacuation apparatuses, the WindSeeker contraptions need to be as close to the ride as possible. Cedar Point is not going to move theirs very far.
