2016? Who Cares! It's All About 2017 to 2030!

The Earthquake Ride building does not sit empty. It is currently Snoopy Boutique. The old Pirate Ride building is not empty either, it is used for storage and employee breaks. It also houses the Boo Hill kids attraction during Halloweekend.

Clearly, Boy Wonder, some cannot contain their excitement regarding a particular passion.

Let's now jog in front of a rear-screen projection.

Awww, shucks 😊

I just hope they don't let the former Shoot the Rapids area sit vacant for two seasons. It will bring back memories for me and be an eyesore to the general public. I like Theme Park Press's idea of putting a family ride in the former footprint of Shoot the Rapids. My idea was use the same layout that Shoot the Rapids once had and just go with a different manufacturer. Just take out all the Intamin stuff first.

I would prefer to see a gci woodie go there.

Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over

I agree - a decent sized GCI woodie would be a thrilling addition to the park, would be small enough to be considered a family coaster, and would round out the park's coaster lineup. I love this No Limits concept:

Badlands - Cedar Point GCI Wooden Coaster 2017 - YouTube

I've seen that video before! This guy is a genius!

I like most of the idea, before the station flyby.

Given that GCI's in the US almost universally come with a 48" height requirement, I'm not so sure about that. And if CP were to install a GCI, would we really want it to be neutered to the point of being a "family coaster"?

The StR spot should be used for a family-friendly water ride. Something like Race for Your Life Charlie Brown at King's Island. It's a shame that there's no water rides for anyone under 46" at CP.

Yes, agree, I hope the Shoot the Rapids site becomes another water ride. Time to make an over the top quality water ride that is fun, somewhat exciting, but also family friendly. A water ride built with the same quality CP put into Valravn would be wonderful.

With an elevated portion like WWL had. I miss that ride

I'm on board with corkscrew being taken out and replaced except for the arches, but i think a launched premier rides coaster is a better choice because:

1. There's not much of a footprint, but as seen with rides like full throttle, premier doesn't need much of a footprint to build a good, unique coaster.

2. Premier track is a lot more similar to arrow track.

3. Intamin. 'nuff said.

Do I win an award for reviving an old thread? Anyway, after Mean Streak is somehow changed this year, there will be a new coaster at the bottom of the ranks at Cedar Point: Millennium Force. I am predicting that CP will tear down MF and add a Vekoma SLC.

I'm kidding.

The new coaster at the bottom of the ranks is one most people seem to forget it exists. It is Corkscrew. An iconic coaster, but forgotten and in the shadow of MF, TTD, Gatekeeper, Valravn, Raptor and Magnum, and CP's best coaster: Wicked Twister :) !

I love Full Throttle as a concept and is a thrilling ride. If Premier Rides redid Corkscrew, it would, first of all be better than an Intamin Redo, but also bring a new manufacturer into the park's lineup. I love the idea of leaving the iconic white arches, and making the new track the same color blue. I think what would really make the ride, is alongside the smooth, new track, and multiple launches, is for CP going for the world's tallest vertical loop record, which is a record they have never had. My point is, half the ride could be an improved launched and smooth Corkscrew, and then the finale is a crazy, record-breaking vertical loop (Think Full Throttle)!! That would be cool!

And yes, I know that Full Throttle lost its record to a Mack Rides coaster in China.... But at least you get the idea of what I mean by a huge vertical loop!

RMC Mean Streak: 215ft Tall, 75mph, 4 inversions. 2020)ALL BLACK B&M Flying Coaster on Millennium Island. 2023 or 2025) Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha

No, you don't win an award for reviving an old thread, if that were the case, Shawn would have many ribbons :)

Anyhow, I predict Iron Dragon will go before Corkscrew based on parts replacement and maintenance issues, although I do think it's a great starter coaster for the kids.

Things I would like to see in the next few years are of course the Mean Streak RMC conversion, along with an added water flume ride in the old STR site, a dark ride, Soak City expansion w/new Resort gate, and something game-changing for 2020 (CP's 150th anniversary). Adding some family oriented flats like a Huss Condor or Disko Cosmic Chaos would be nice also to balance things out.

So in addition to Valravn this year, 4 additions/upgrades in 4 years, plus something "nice to also balance things out"

Will you charge them to your credit card or do you expect the Ride Fairy to leave them under CP's pillow?

Parking garages? Refurbishing every existing coaster? Three dark rides including the loss of an income producing arcade? What the hell kind of amusment park wishlist is this?
At some point does the peninsula sink into the lake from too much weight?

I mean I don't see the problem in refurbishing rides that are turning 30, 40, 50+ years old. Sure some of the ideas are a bit much like building CCMR into an indoor coaster. But fixing them up, replacing trains with something that has better restraints, more comfortable seating, or offers a smoother experience, sound nice. And we're talking about quite a few years down the line hear in some of these ideas, so a repaint, sprucing up areas in and around the ride, maybe a new station would be necessary plus a nice way to commemorate an older attraction. Anyway a lot of people like the idea of turning the coliseum into a dark ride any. CP is known for its collection of rides not arcade games, so I don't think loosing an arcade is going to mean the loose of a significant amount of money.

I'm sure CP doesn't think the revenue from the arcade is insignificant. In addition, I can't think of a worse building for a dark ride given all of the vertical columns. Why focus on the arcade, don't people think CP can build a custom building for a dark ride? They build them for haunted houses.
