You are partially right ffej. The biggest reason was the fact that Dragsters system was still a prototype. However the first and some of second years problems rooted back to them rushing Intamin into getting the system ready on time. There were things they missed to do safety checks on and it caused problems. But in regards to the point perks of the past, it was funny on the years when was listed for early entry. I don't recall it ever opening on time. :P

...how is saying that bragging about an ASVAB score (which should be bragged about) tell him all he needs to know about that person not an insult?
My admittedly poorly articulated point was that it seems absurd for TheDevarious to claim that his ASVAB score (or future prospects based on said score) somehow means that he is above his job at CP. Personally, I find that insulting, as a guest of the park. If someone thinks they're too good/awesome/etc. for a particular job, and that hubris has a clear, negative impact on their job performance, then yeah, I think that speaks toward someone's character. And not in a good way.
Say what you will about me, but I've never worked a job where I didn't work my ass off, even if I felt that job wasn't using me to my full potential. I take pride in my work.

^^ A day late and a dollar short there my friend...
Insulting? Nowhere in TheDevarious' post did I see anything that would lead me to believe he thinks his ASVAB score has any relation as to how he thinks his job at Cedar Point is completely worthless. Actually, seeing that he worked his ass off to score a 96, you would think he has some kind of work ethic, so how did you get insulted?
I respect the fact that you work your ass off too at your job. Too many people just like to sit around and collect a paycheck which isn't cool with me, but just because you say you work your ass off, does not mean nobody else on here does not work theirs off too

You'd think so. Alas:

If you can't walk over to another ride & ride it while they finish up within that hour before the park opens, that's sad. Plus it's not like you haven't ridden Millie before. You know the drill, you know the ride. Just because you didn't get to experience a great ride right at 9:00, whatever....this is just a job, and only a job, and a summer job at best.
Noone cares to that level of perfection, especially outside of their boundary, and for the money we're paid at.
Apparently, if someone isn't happy with their pay scale or their job as a whole, it's reasonable to not care about the quality of job they do. And when I'm the customer, yeah, I find that insulting. Either do good work, or get out of the way so someone else can.
And apparently customers who expect to get what they paid for are "sad", and should be greeted by an attitude of Hilton-esque "whatever" if they dare to mention the park's end of the value proposition isn't being upheld.

Just because I display little regard for a guest in one situation means nothing.
I'm not so sure I would admit that in a public forum before I even start my job - not so smart.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I have been gone a few days. Processing in for this summer and all. I've read up on everything since I've been gone (3 pages whew) and feel I must make at least a couple comments. First to Devarious:
You will learn in company training that ANYTHING you say ANYWHERE especially on the internet can be traced to you and bring harmful effects to your employment. So, to say what you say on here doesn't matter isn't very true. I'm very careful with what I say on here and always try to be respectful to every party involved. Second, Cedar Point Park Operations prides itself on being the best Park Op division in the country and we will not accept anything less than that. You will find out that even though we have a great time working here, we take our jobs very seriously.
To everyone else:
Like I have said before. The ride host at Cedar Point are probably the hardest working in the industry and like I said above, we as a division, will not accept anything less than being the best at our jobs in the country. If you really feel this strongly about the ride being open at 9am then please feel free to go into Park Operations this summer and let them know about it. That will have a more direct impact than saying something on here.
Ok deej! Now that you quoted something that I can actually see being offensive as a park guest, I honestly see where you're coming from with that.
But what I DO NOT agree with you on, is the lack of respect you are treating a USAF officer by saying

That you're bragging about scoring a 96 on your ASVAB tells me nearly everything I need to know about you.
He literally just explained that at the top of this page. I'm not sure why you guys keep bringing this up when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic and argument at hand.
And you adding ^ doesn't help the topic and argument either. ;)
Yeah, well I forgot he said that, my bad. I'm human! But thanks for pointing that out. I just think everybody deserves respect, so take it for what it's worth.
So I'm sorry that you had to strain your eyes and read that last line (that I edited out)
