2010 Platinum Pass Question

Jason Hammond's avatar

That has not been the case though. I and several of my friends who all had CP Platinum passes had issues with them working at multiple parks this year.

So great the problem's still haven't been fixed, you would think by know they would have been fixed.
This is the old glory days of ERT for Hotel and Joe Cool.

When I had Six Flags version of a platinum pass I purchased at Magic Mountain and went to other Six Flag parks I never had any issues. Unlike, the three or four evil step-children parks of the cedar fair chain. How they can't be under the same system baffles me.

Ahh yes Daniel... the good ol' days of the Joe Cool Club. The one year they held the Joe Cool Weekend was one of the best weekends I have ever had at the park!

I remember in either '01 or '02 during a Joe Cool morning ride time I was the only rider on a Magnum train for 9 laps. Kinda weird sitting in the back seat seeing an entirely empty train ahead of you.

So my best bet is to enter the main gate, just in case there's any problems.
I remember about 2006-07 while entering in the front gate for ERT that Raptor was always open, even if the ride was not on board that morning.
And there was never a line, always ether a one train wait.

Thanks to the Platinum pass those days are over.

But, is that really a bad thing? If so few people were using it, that was the park really benefiting from it? I still get multiple rides during platinum hour. That's more than you will normally get during the day on Millennium or Maverick.

The only rides that never have a wait for ERT are Iron Dragon and Raptor. 2 years ago, there never was a large line to enter the park at the Soak City/Resort entrance. This year, it took me 10 minutes to get through the entrance. I think it would be better to switch up the rides each day so people could take advantage of the other rides during ERT. Was Magnum ever part of ERT?

There is no ride that never has a line. There are many rides that rarely have a line. Raptor very often has a line. Try going to the park tomorrow.

^^I am basing it off of my various trips during ERT over the past 2 years. I have never had to wait over 5 minutes for Raptor and Iron Dragon is almost always a walk on for me. Maverick actually had a longer wait for ERT Memorial Day than it did mid day.

I have a quick season pass question. You know how you can upgrade a single day ticket to a season pass, does that have to be done on the same say you purchased your ticket?

Yes, I believe it does.

If I park and walk down to the Blue Streak entrance, one, do they open that entrance for early entry for platinum passholders? And two, is it a significant advantage when trying to get to Millennium quick?

Yes they open that entrance and yes it's the closest to Millennium Force.

Gracias amigo! We should be going this weekend and I'll give it a shot for Sunday's early entry.

I am watching for the season pass sales to start at my "Home" park for 2011. In the past they have run deals if you buy now get the rest of this season free.Kyle more than likely you will not run into a line at all at that gate. When we went there in the last week, we were the only waiting there.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Well I went on Sat, Sun and Monday, entered in the main gate and my Platinum pass worked fine. For those days the ERT was, Raptor, Iron Dragon, Millennium Force, and Maverick.

This seems to jive with my question instead of staring a new thread.

Whats up with Michigans Adventure not being able to use my Platinum Pass? Its sort of annoying that I had to take my pass to a window and get a ticket in its place.

Fantastic tip there. Used it the last two Sundays, and each time two of us have made first train on MF (the other two of us sat at the exit waiting with the 4 year old for our turn on parent swap). Maybe I shouldn't say that too loud though, still not many using that gate :)
