I felt this this thread might be helpful to anyone who is applying for 2008.
Anyways, quick question for returning employees. The application recognized me as returning and employee, and asked me if I wished to return to the same Division. I answered "yes." When the Job Preferences section came up, the "I would prefer one of the following positions" section displayed "Return to Park Operations." Just for the heck of it, I put "Ride Host" as a second option. When I reviewed my application, however, it displays "600-Any Position in Park Operations." Now, perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but should I just let it go, or change my answer to "No" on the question so that I may select "Ride Host" as my first choice? Just curious as to what other returning employees have done.

Derglas, you're thinking too much into this one. I did the same as you did however, a couple weeks back I received a special request email from both hiring managers asking me which position I would like to return to. Naturally, because I had a good summer I put 332 as my choice.

Right, I received the same, but also recall how it noted to be sure to select 606-Rides so that they could view your application. I know there's a pecking order as to who can view it, before it's opened to everyone, I just can't recall what it is, and how quickly it occurs. I guess, I just don't want to slow down the process. ;)

Just out of curiosity....what ride did you put down on that special reuest form?

I'm kinda worrying a bit about it, but I just left choice #1 as "Return to Park Operations" and left the others blank. I figured since it recognized me as a returner, and knew what division I was in last season, I should just keep it that way and not select anything else so as to confuse the system somehow or screw something up.
Now I'm worrying about it....Thanks, Doug. ;)
Oh well...I'm hoping I'm back at the 360 this summer. That's what I put on the form.

Well, I just went ahead and submitted it the way it was, Kirk. I figure, eventually they'll figure out that every returning employee's account says that, is my guess... or they have some other part to the system which we simply aren't seeing.

We'll all end up as lifeguards or something.

That's silly. There is no shortage of lifeguards.
You'll all be night trash.

I did what you did Doug. Either a lifeguard or restroom host. :)
I don't see how it would be a problems, but if I don't see anything back within two weeks or so I'll call.

Do you think they are desperate enough to hire someone for 2 months? I want to go back, but not as long as I did last year.
Craig and Kirk: I talked to my manager today, who informed me that while all the managers in Park Operations will be able to view the application, they will also be able to see that you were in Ride Operations last year, and will leave your application alone to be picked up by Ride Operations again. With that being said, I was also informed that they can't even view the applications until the very end of January, beginning of February, just to give anyone looking for a time frame some ideas.

Thanks Doug.
I also heard from another source that they are not able to review the applications until late January.

Hi, I am applying online right now and ran into a question and thought I would post it here instead of creating a new thread.
Under part 4, "questions" they ask "Do you have reliable transportation to get to work?" Do they mean every day or just arrival? Thanks
There is a bus that runs from Commons dorms to cedar point about every 15-30 Min. You do not need a car down there. There is even a bus that runs to town. So all you need to is get down there. Hope this helps.

I guess I would answer yes. Just know that if you're relying in the bus, and the bus is late, that's not an excuse for being late to work.
