Wicked Twister, Run it's course?

It'll likely be like when old school Intamin freefalls or Arrow loopers have closed. Plenty of usable parts can be salvaged to keep the remaining models running well.

2022 winter chill-out, a free small piece of WT as a momento/souvenir. Take your pick from the scrap pile of bolts/nuts.

^^^ I'd agree with parts of that statement. BTW, I don't think Giant Wheel is going anywhere. Not that hard to use that existing footprint for a future ride. Trust me, the park isn't going to leave that plot of land alone without putting something else there. I have a strong feeling that if the replacement ( for the current WT) is what I think it is, the GP is going to be stunned but.... it will look beautiful in that area of the park. Hints were dropped years ago about this on the internet..... you just gotta know where to look. ;)

The Great Unanswered Question is why attractions on what would theoretically be a relatively static web page would be sorted in ASCIIbetical order when it is the sort of page you would expect to be built by hand. Or is it a dynamic listing?

Good grief, it isn’t even the off season yet.

My questions are, if WT’s structure were to be relocated, would it operate with LIMs? Is it easy to convert to an LSM launch? Would it operate at it’s current watered down cycle? Or would it operate like it did when it opened in 2002?

Hypothetically speaking, if the ride were to be relocated, I would guess that they would switch to LSMs. If they are going to go through the effort to relocate the ride, I would guess it would be worth the effort to update the LIMs to LSMs to get the higher efficiency motors. As far as ride cycle goes, I have no idea. If the main reason that the ride cycle was shortened was due to the motors (over heating, et. al), they they would probably make it longer. If is was structural, probably not.

In that scenario, they'd basically only be reusing the structure, which had issues from day one, 19 years ago. Considering the cost of upgrading to a new launch system would likely be nontrivial, I would it make sense to go that route?

Is it possible/feasible to have it use a standard chain link lift hill type of launch? What I mean is this; Last weekend I was at a small park in Foley AL named The Park at OWA. The main coaster was called Rollin'Thunder. It had a lift hill approximately as tall as Wicked Twister's spires and it wasn't sloped whatsoever, it went straight up. Could Wicked Twister use the chain lift to pull it up the front or rear spire and then release it to start the cycle? Or, does the present system exert a push each time it passes through?

The ride had 4 launches. One for each pass except the last forward one. I don't recall the ride cycle being shortened either. I've been riding it since it opened and it was the same last weekend as it was opening year.

It launches every time it goes through, with the exception of the final pass. If I remember correctly, it actually doesn't hit the maximum speed until the last launch.

Edit : Scott beat me to it.

The only change I know of is that launch # 2 (the first pass up the rear spike) was lessened to not have the train go all the way up the rear spike on both passes, presumably to cut down on structural wear.

Wonder if they're gonna have a section of the train in the HalloWeekends CP graveyard as they do/did with Mantis and Mean Streak.
