I threw it into the map editor and got about 5 diffrent cities with that Zip in 5 different states. MI and OH included. I just want to make sure I have solid info.

Don't mind me, I was tired this morning. Just cross referenced the USPS database and narrowed it down.

I’m not sure what you’re looking at, but zip codes correspond to post offices. Every address has one and each zip is specific to the post office that serves the address. The same zip does not appear in 4 or 5 different states, ever. Low numbers are on the east coast and high numbers are on the west coast. It’s how they know where to deliver the mail.
Google searches are easy. Type it in for access to all the info you’d ever need about that zip. His county in Michigan lists several cities, but none most people would know. There is a map, though, and it shows his county on the lake, somewhat north of Muskegon.
Sorry, but I’m not sure about this project of yours. If you want to put in the time and trouble with all this cross-referencing and what not go ahead, but I don’t find it a useful tool. Who around here would need this and why?

edit: you also seem to be deleting your posts.

Yes I deleted my question as to location as your post and my response summed up the specifics and I'm trying to keep this thread clean as stated.

I was rather tired this morning when I originally posted and you are quite correct about Zip codes. What I was seeing was different addresses but it hadn't register at the time.

Now that it's setup it only takes me a couple minutes to update it here and there. As stated in the original post this is built off of Dennis's post about where people are located (which you posted in from what I see) and is a graphical representation of those locations. Most people seem to enjoy the availability of this from everything else I've heard but I will admit I was a bit dull this morning about it.

Hope all stays safe and well for you and yours and thank you for the refresh on Zip codes!

I have your 'map' as a shortcut on the desktop. I go to it typically a couple times a day.

Great to hear you are enjoying!

I've actually enjoyed populating it and seeing it all.

Have you found the easter eggs?

Tiffin, OH (44883) here. 55 minutes on a good day.

I didn't realize google wouldn't just call it Ludington, MI. It's small, but I didn't think it was unknown!

Definitely was surprised when I saw what city it was. I've been up to ludington before, many years ago my parents took us across to Wisconsin on the Badger. Beautiful little town, I need to meander on up to some of those western lake towns again sometime.

That is just the copyright and has nothing to do with when the pictures were taken.
