Yes, they did, but I don't remember when. Might have been at Coastermania last year(2018), not sure. I have absoulety no inside info., but I expect something big in2021.

Or “taking a couple years to celebrate the 150th anniversary” could mean exactly that - two years of banners, special merchandise, etc.

I'm not exactly saying that you're setting yourself up for disappointment, but... no wait, yes I am saying exactly that.

Expect the park to keep evolving and changing in some way each and every season. Beyond that, enjoy the park for what it is today. Speculation is fun, putting clues together is fun, but as far as anything for the next couple seasons there is little to nothing to go on, other than McClure stating something about getting some type of "ride" for next year (and he was not explicit, just responding to a reporter's inquiry if the park was going to add something).

With the increase in family-friendly attractions and Live E in the midways, 2020 is primed for the return of Bench:The Ride

It's the end of July, and so far, not a single clue or hint. If they do add anything for 2020, it will probably be a flat ride imo.

Has anyone noticed anything going on where Cedars was?

Nothing of note. We are here all week, it’s just empty track with nothing getting worked on.
The flooding is still kinda bad by marina but not into the cedars area.

For the uninitiated, there were markings all around Witches Wheel more or less all season; of course we had no idea it would be for the ride's removal and BackBeatQue.

I don't necessarily look for anything on our visits, but they do stick out, and I can't say that I have seen a single mark of significance anywhere all season.

I also wonder if there is something planned for the former Sandcastle site. From my understanding, the new RV sites don't take up much the room back there (although I can honestly say I have never set foot that far back on the property for any reason, so I have no point of reference).

Based on the number of cars in the parking lot during our visit week 26, additional accommodations would be a wise investment.

The parks resort inventory one point is sold out this week we are here. They could really use another hotel again.

I totally understand we should not expect some crazy new ride but the fact that it has hinted at something coming for the anniversary. Just surprised literally not a single hint to what it's going to be.

Something will be coming. Obviously. Do you think the park is going to come out and say “we’re not doing jack for the 150th!”? But “something” could be a 150th anniversary parade or monster trucks ride version 2.0.

When two rides fall in love they make a little ride. That ride usually takes about 3-5 years to develop.

I know most enthusiasts want a coaster (not necessarily in this community) but there are lots of things the park could use first and would be a great investment. Number 1 that keeps popping up would be a traditional log flume. Which I think would fit in great with Forbidden Frontier.

I'm thinking next year will be a flat ride of some sort. I'm hoping maybe 2 or 3 flat rides.

We'll see. I'm sure we'll know before the Haunt.

I'm expecting an announcement to revamp Kiddie Kingdom around August 16th and for that announcement to reference a new GCI family woodie coming to the area around the former dolphin stadium and Kid Arthur's Court in 2021.

Not adding anything "big" for 150 will be a major disappointment.
