That's great news. I was also planning to book a room at Castaway Bay.

We will have a special rate at Castaway Bay for attendees if you're concerned about driving early in the morning. The rate has not yet been finalized, but something to think about.

I'll Tweet it when I have confirmation!

Hopefully it'll include those that wish to stay the night of as well.

they said the special rate for Chill Out attendees was for a room only

I didn't know they even offered rooms that way.

I want to think that at the GOCC Christmas party that Tony said there was no limit on the amount of people this year.Would they create other times if there are too many people?

Will there ever be a point in the tour when all 4 groups will be together? I think we should take a PointBuzz group photo if there is an opportunity.

I had no idea this event was so big that they sent the tour out in groups. How any people attend this, based on past years?!? I'd love to participate one of these years.

We started it as a little thing in 2012, then in 2013 it kind of blew up when they decided to lift the cap and see what happens. 2014 got even bigger, and this year the park itself has taken it over (which is OK, because it means that Walt and I don't need to handle the money).

I thought the cap wasn't lifted until last year. It was a decision directly from Matt Ouimet as I recall. 50 in 2012 at Chet & Matt's, 100 in 2013 in the Conference Center and 3 groups totalling 200ish? in 2014 also in the conference center but split up into 3 groups.

When you hear it from the guy who made the decision, you know...

Confirmation takes a long time these days.

It's still a month away. The rate will be the same whether they announce it today or a week before the event.

I appreciate the non-information, but it's also true that people like to plan out getaways like this more than "a week before the event."

Is you buying a ticket to this event dependent on this special rate? 2 of the 4 sessions are already sold out.

They could just, you know, NOT have a special rate for (literally) everyone attending.

Exactly. They didn't need to offer a special rate. I actually didn't expect them to. But be happy they are. Just be glad the park puts on this event while giving alot of their time and resources and not making a dime from it to support a good cause.

I mean, I'm a stickler for planning.....I get it. But this special rate was probably a last minute decision and it needs to be finalized. None of us know exactly how long that process is. It's not like Tony is sitting on his arse about it. Sometimes, things like this just take a while to get right.....especially when it involves how a hotel makes its money and how to go about offering a special rate for hundreds of people. It's not exactly a 5 minute discussion with an 8 minute decision.

Nothing quite like raising money for a magical place like Give Kids The World Village!

You've now taken two incorrect assumption stabs at my planning for some reason.

Anyway, no, I was prepared enough to buy tickets for the timeslot I desired before they sold out. Now I'm just trying to figure out if we wanted to stay the night or not.

Has anybody had an issue with getting tickets recently? I had to see if I could get off work for that weekend to go, and now when I go to the page to get tickets, it has a grey screen and says "No Packages Found". I hope it's not sold out.
