I was really looking forward to this event, but unfortunately will not be able to make it. I started a new job here recently and do not want to take time off so quickly to make the trip.

That should open up a site for camping for someone who's interested. Unsure if we can transfer camp spot name.

^ I have a feeling there will be more people with cancellations like yours. I'm supposed to be on the concrete midway, hopefully I can get someone else's grassy spot!

Yeah, my spot was on the concrete. IMO the restrictions are kind of a pain too. You have to bring something to weight your tent down, but have to carry it from the soak city gate to the back. Not something I could easily pack on a plane, so I'd have to drive. Not worth the trip now for me.

Yeah, like, what are we supposed to weight it down with? We supposed to bring bricks with us or something?

Maybe make friends with someone at Gemini and borrow a sandbag or two. :)

Kidding of course.

Where do you see if you are in grass or concrete? My confirmation email from Kristy doesn't say anything of that sort

There was an initial wave of notifications that you were given a campsite. Later on, they sent out another wave saying that the response was overwhelming so they decided to open up some spots on the concrete and you were chosen. I believe you should've been notified that you weren't on the grass but I'll let the others confirm. My companion was insistent on having beds to sleep in so we'll be at a motel.

You can always call the park and ask for confirmation as well.

If you were chosen to camp in the grass, you've already been told. And you already know you need stakes, which most tents come with.

If you're camping on the concrete, you don't need sandbags.

What you need is your tent to NOT blow away, roll over, fly into the sky, hit someone in the face, etc. And that's a wind precaution. It may not be windy. We don't know. Safety, kids, safety.

If what you're already bringing will keep it down, then no further action is necessary.

Hmm, I haven't gotten this email yet, but I called to confirm my spot earlier this year. Hopefully my email is just being slow.

Also, now that CP is open until midnight on Friday nights, I wonder how they will close off the area for this. I was not worried about setting our tent and stuff up with the majority of the park no longer there, but now they will be open until 12 that night so that changes things a little bit. But I guess it is nice because we can ride all of the rides that night until midnight, not just the 3 extra ride time rides. Although that makes this a little less special because we aren't really in the park riding things after they close anymore, just extra time in the AM.

That's a good point. Tony, are the night ERT rides going to be shut down early for us, or should we expect ERT not to start until 12:30 AM?

I am sorry this is O/T but does this mean ERT on MF this Friday starts after midnight then?

Sometime after midnight when the regular line clears out.

Edit: Per the ride night list page (https://www.cedarpoint.com/rides/Platinum-Pass-Benefits/Ride-Nights):
" Please note: Ride Nights begin once the regular line of guests has cleared. Must have valid Platinum Pass to ride."

Or not. Tony just sent out the following on Twitter. I presume we'll hear from him on here shortly.

"@TonyClarkCP: Head's up: Millennium Force will close early on Friday night. Platinum Passholders will get their ERT from 11 pm - midnight."

Schedule remains the same. Most of Frontiertown will close just for this event.

That's pretty cool! Now we can ride the rest of the rides in the park that night as well. Hopefully the weather cooperates for us. ERT for the other days starting @ 11 is nice too. Has everyone else gotten their emails already?
