I believe Windseeker was being tested a week or so ago. I have a feeling it will be ready to go on opening day.

Is the new evac contraption thing on site yet? If not, does anyone know when it will? One of my biggest questions is where it will be stored. I can't think of any place near the ride that a big thing like it can be kept without it being out in the open. Unless it can assembled and dissasembled quickly into smaller pieces to be stored, then I'm clueless.

I think at Knotts, they have it stored behind another ride somewhere in a storage shed. I swear I remember reading that somewhere?

At carowinds it is being stored behind the asylum haunted house. From what I saw it looked like a metal death trap.

It's stored behind Hurler at Kings Dominion. It'll probably be behind the stadium.

Looks like Windseeker has been testing all day today! That's a good sign. :)

I find this "testing" weird since the gondola isn't actually spinning (at least when I see it). It seems to be just going to the top, and sitting there. Almost like it's only being used for maintenance reasons.

^ Maybe they're testing the Emergency Evacuation thing that all the Cedar Fair parks are getting for the Windseeker's.

I'm guessing no just because it'd be pretty noticeable on the webcam.

I feel like some testing of some sort has been going on today, either of the regular ride, or just the evac system. Either way I am confident it will be open on opening day.

Everytime that I have looked at the webcam, I have seen Windseeker in the air. Has it re-opened to riders yet? I tried asking this question earlier, but everyone ignored me.

Windseeker has had riders this season Shawn. It's even had a few loaded shutdowns (surprise).

I was at the park for a few hours yesterday evening and it was running fine. I even took a ride on it. No issues at all.

So I read Knott's is relocating their Windseeker to World's of Fun and it will be renamed Steelhawk. Is this because Knott's has had so many problems with it? I don't think CP will do this because they haven't had many problems with theirs. But if Knott's has had problems with it, wouldn't it still have problems at WoF?

This is true

Anyways, I think that most of the problems were actually with the state not allowing the ride to be reopened

I don't know who they think they're fooling by changing the name. Maybe they think it will erase all of its "checkered past" or give people the impression it's been redone. Was the ridership that low at Knotts after all the trouble that they decided to move it?
