I can't wait to take some new pictures of Raptor and it's nice new paint this year! Wow, I never realy realized how old the inverted concept really is.

Older B&M's that don't have painted rails have the same problem, regardless of location. The thing that makes it particularly irritating with inverted coasters is that in rain the water tends to drip off and stain your clothes as you climb the lift, captive under the drip. (Nothing a "stain stick" can't take care of, I might add.)
Every new B&M in the last two years (maybe more) has had painted rails. Nitro has the pretty (not) pink while Talon has the orange. Even last year's Batman at Geauga Lake had some kind of primer color (like the wheel stripes on The Force).

I believe the GA Scorcher, built in 99, is one of B&M's last "bare" - rails if you will.
Is CP painting Raptors rails a gray color or just leaving it? I am still a bit confused on that.

They will probably paint the rails dark green. Question....wont the paint on the rails get worn off pretty quick?

The wheels only make contact with the rails in 3 places, so no.

Cool, are they painting the trains too?

I doubt they'd paint the trains. There's no reason to.

I'd think that the trains would fade a bit over the Raptor's seven seasons, so won't they kind of stand out a little from the rest of the ride if they don't paint them too???

The restraints are kind of beat up too. Not sure anything can be done about those though.

I don't think you can paint that foam though. If they do, it would look REALLY crappy. Just a thought.
Great signatures....

They'd probably have to replace the foam or something. I'm sure they need to eventually do that. Some of those shoulder harnesseseses's look like someone took a bite out of them. I guess if you were really hungry that'd make sense, but how do they get like that?

I was just thinking about the trains, and I guess that the "frames" of the cars could be painted, but they would look crap-tacular if they did that and didn't replace the foam, so my guess is, they will. Here's hoping...

The rails (if painted), would look like MF's, and as CP_Bound said, it would only be touched in three places. But since they are painting Raptor the SAME colors, I'm guessing that the rails won't be painted.

Gemini Hand Smacker-the foam on the shoulder restraits get "that way" from larger guests riding. From us literally pushing and shoving down on the harness in the effort to let these people ride, the pressure from the seat belt on that part of the harness ruins it.
The paint on the trains themselves was touched up last season, yes Raptor was painted this season but I dont know if the rails were painted or not. I do not think they were ever painted so I would doubt it.

There is a picture of the Raptor being painted on the front page of the Metro section in today's Cleveland Plain Dealer. The picture shows a guy painting the rails. So we now have a picture of the Raptor with the rails painted green.

It's not on their site, it's in the actual newspaper. You know, those things some people read before the Internet came along.
