I found out last year during cleaning crew where that smell comes from. It's not a pleasant thing...

^^Yeah Maverick did have a bad opening this year, I remember, I waited 5 hours, I was on the Last train out. Hopefully this year I will get a rollback on dragster.

they actually installed some antirollbacks on dragster so you'll never have a chance again.

they really installed antirollbacks on dragster? I was also hoping to get a rollback this year.

Yes, I have heard that too. There are going to be kicker wheels on the top of the tower to push any slow trains over. They are hoping that the wheels let the ride open faster in the morning so they can bring back early entry for it.

However, I imagine that you could still get a rollback if the ride e-stopped itself while you were launching and the train didn't even make it up to the wheels.

Good luck.

^While I find the "anti-rollback" wheels hard to believe, it actually almost seems smart. They lose a lot of time every time the train rolls back. They have to talk to the people on the train making sure everyone is okay, roll back to the waiting position, reset, roll forward, and launch again. Although I also question how effective these "wheels" would be. Would they just be standard rubber wheels? Because there are some trains that aren't even close to clearing the top of the hill. In that case I don't think friction is going to drag the several ton train over the top.

Having waited many a time for Dragster in the mornings, I can tell you that most of the trains that don't make it almost DO make it and only roll back once they have reached the top. I'm sure nothing they could do would ever get rid of rollbacks 100% (I even said so in my last post) but the new drive wheels going in should make opening the ride a whole lot easier.

If this is true I'm going to be very sad. I never got a rollback! :(

I really hope that is not true. I haven't heard anything about it and I still have not experienced at rollback.

Bummer. I wonder if you'll be able to feel those kicker wheels on every ride, or only if it threatens to rollback?

I still would have to wonder when they would go on, I don't think they'd be able to pull up a 7 ton train that is barely even making it to the wheels. I never got to get a roll back, but maybe I might someday! As for Opening Day only 83 more days!

Don't think of them as pulling the trains all the way up the tower. They will only be where the top walkway is, so they can stop it from rolling back when it does this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL2jnfUXWVg. Which it what it does most mornings.
