Forecast for the 12th

Or worse yet, Watching coverage on a local TV station which is actually relevent and may provide life saving details on the storm only to be switched to the worthless Weather Channel.

That is running one of their seasonal specials on Tornado's while the local channel is providing information on the tornado's running through your neighborhood.

I hate it when they say things like "tornadoes are headed our way" and they are in Atlanta!

Sandusky as far as im concerned is just completely unpredictable as far as weather is concerned. One minute its perfect and 10 minutes later out of nowhere a horrible storm pops up, on a day where they were predicting no rain whatsoever.

It may be 65 - 70 degrees on OD but everyone has to remember that cold breeze coming of the bay or Lake Erie.

In May the lake has not warmed up yet and the the wind tends to have a bit of a bite still. 70 in May is no where near 70 in August.

I actually just checked the weather and I believe it said mostly cloudy and 70.

30% is just enough to keep those away that aren't hard core.

The auto-generated forecasts at those big sites aren't worth much. Stick with the NWS. Better yet, read the NWS forecast discussion to get the story behind the forecast. A few words is one thing, understanding the decision is even better.

I know that most people don't want the techy details, they just want to know what's going to happen. That's why I suggest finding a really good TV meteorologist. They'll give you what you need, but explain it in a way that makes sense. They're hard to find, unfortunately. If you're in Cleveland, there is simply no better person at not only giving an accurate forecast, but giving you the full story behind it, than Fox 8's Andre Bernier. I watch a lot of local weather on my business trips and I've never come across anyone better.

Anyway, here's the "translated" forecast discussion from the NWS:

Wednesday night into Friday, the computer model is showing deeper moisture across Northeast Ohio. There is no forcing (the spark needed to make something of the moisture) to really make much out of it, though, so aside from a low chance of precipitation, bit reluctant to boost the precipitation chance too much.

The computer model does show a weak front coming through the area Thursday night or early Friday. The associated low pressure, however, remains well north. The high will begin to quickly build in Friday night, keeping the forcing quite weak. The surface front, however, could touch off some convection lasting into Saturday. (i.e., there isn't much to work with, but some unorganized areas of precipitation may appear).

The high pressure will continue to build in from the north on Sunday. The computer models indicate the temperatures may be a bit cooler with the wind flow out of the north/northeast, but conditions should be dry.

well that leaves northwest ohio out...we're stuck with B.S. Blizzard Bill Spencer.

Looks like it will be a Chilly day at the point, but hopefully the sun will help subside the cool air. Mid 60s isn't bad when you think about it, but then you forget that Lake Erie is a nice warm 47 degrees. Factor in the wind, and its Jacket Time!

It only got up to about 56 last year on OD and all you needed was a sweatshirt. Well, at least that's all I needed.

Just looked at the accuweather forecast, there is NO rain expected for opening day.

Weather people like keeping your hopes up.. that every weekend is going to be beautiful weather,

Then that morning, Saturday, as its raining when you get up, they say there is a chance of rain today.

In 7 days, the forecast goes from sunny, to rainy to sunny to rainy, they don't know until they wake up and look outside, just like us.

(They are pretty good at forecasting the temperatures though) Do I have a weather attitude problem? :)

LOL! Luckily I live close enough to the Indiana border that I get Fort Wayne channels as well. They have better weathermen and are usually more informative since much of our weather comes from that direction. Can't handle Blizzard Bill though....What's up with that flower he wears every night? and the constant yelling???? Jeesh.

I'll let you all know I'm hoping the weather is good for you. Even though my evil side is hoping for really rainy, cold weather since I can't be there and that would make me miss it less....But I'll be nice and wish for the best for you all!
