Well, it looks like "periods of rain" or "drizzle" t/o the day so far. Maybe they'll get it wrong. Everybody PRAY for sun!

Forecasts beyond 3 days aren't worth a lot for figuring out exactly what will happen. But, long-term 7-10 forecasts are actually fairly good for looking at patterns, especially in the temperature department. I'm skeptical of any rain/no-rain determination at this point, but I would say it does appear that the temperatures should be above average.
I've been monitoring the GFS for the past few days, and it does look like we will be in an active pattern over Opening Weekend. As of the latest runs (06z), it appears Sandusky will be clearing out Saturday Morning... staying dry for Sunday, with rain moving back in by Midday Monday...
As Walt said, this is obviously subject to change (even on a run by run basis... especially at this point in the forecast)... But it does look like it will be a more active pattern and temps should peak Saturday around 70 and then cool off by a few degrees for Sunday and Monday.
Walt... where do you get most of your weather info from? You aren't blindly trusting that weather organization from State College, PA are you? ;)

I'm hoping it doesn't rain and all sun for opening day. But rain wont stop me from coming anyways just hopefully it ends up not raining.

Im so hopeing that is doesnt rain. But temp. wise it should feel liek srping. Atleast thats what there saying. Oh well Im going no matter what. I have to ride Maverick!
We Got about 2 inches of rain last week, and the wife asked, what I was going to do if it rains like that on opening day,
I told her I was going to get wet...:)
I wait until the day before to decide if its going to rain there, then they are usually wrong even that day. The weathermen can't ever get the weather right is this area.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Accuweather is an oxymoron of itself with no accuracy at all. ;) I think towards saturday night there will be a slight accumulation of storms, but im not too sure they will reach CP. The jet stream seems to be descending from canada so from mansfield south, maybe up to sandusky county should get the storms.
Weather forecasting is the only career that you can be wrong 50% of the time and you did a good job.

Ride on, MrScott!
In the navy they are called weather guessers. I wonder why.
The Weather Channel is showing a system a few days before Opening and clearing by Saturday... lets hop that system does not move slower than expected. Looks like temperatures will be great though... Jacket in the AM, but an overall comfortable temperature... maybe a little chilly.

The Weather Channel is almost as unreliable as AccuWeather... blech.

^^^Because they don't know the definition of Forecast, its just a calculated estimate. Usually Forecasts greater than three days in advance will not be totally accurate, but its better than nothing.

^^I would say 90% of the time the weather channel give out correct 3-day forecasts.

I agree... and I suppose for the general public its fine... just as a weather geek I never get close to that site...
Although I do like their new street level radar/satellite... it's pretty cool technology. It's basically a Windows Live/Google Maps with Radar and Satellite overlay.

I always go here to Noaa's website:
Do not mess with dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
Thats one of the best Mrs Brit. I do use the NWS for general forecasting... its the most comprehensive and reliable site in my opinion... But I also use Weather Underground some, as well as many of the other NOAA sites (Storm Prediction Center, NCEP, HPC, etc...)

We all just need to go out and do a rain dance this weekend to get it all out of the way in advance. that way come opening day it will be warm and sunny, other than 15 mins of rain 1st thing in the morning to get rid of the fair weather fans. :) *** Edited 5/4/2007 7:14:55 PM UTC by JTaylor***
I talk to some of my old local weather guys in new orleans for opinions on the weather and just analyze the data that NWS sends. I just don't trust weather.com or accuweather. watch how many times the forecast changes over a 1 week span of time.
What is funny is that my friend lives in Minneapolis, and during Severe Weather the Digital Cable box will switch all viewers to the weather channel for information.
You know, instead of letting them view one of the local stations which might have an actual CLUE.
The Weather Channel stinks, and I don't like it.
