Forecast for the 12th

Well, last Saturday I was supposed to take my niece to the zoo and they 'said' it was supposed to be 70 and sunny. Until they changed their minds at 6pm on Friday and it was 50% chance of rain. Only job you can suck 50% of the time and still get a raise.

Just checked the latest from CLE (National Weather Service, Cleveland)... still looking dry by the time the park opens on Saturday, but for those (like me) staying Sunday and Monday, look for cooler temps and a chance of rain on Monday.

However, upon checking the latest runs of the GFS model (06Z), it looks like there may be a slight chance of light rain on Sunday morning, with the heavier rain on Monday holding off till around closing time. Again, there is plenty of time for this to change. Just calling it as I see it now...

The high's forecast to be in the 60's through Monday.

Actually, there's some sites still saying 70's through Monday.

As we draw closer, it looks like Saturday and Sunday will be clear, with temps in the mid 60s on Saturday dropping to the lower 60s on Sunday... lows on Saturday night could be in the 40s. With a forecasted Northeast Wind blowing across the lake, right across the peninsula you can expect temps in the park to be 5-10 degrees lower than the mainland...

Long story short... bring a sweatshirt or jacket just in case!

Exactly as Walt said, the forecast discussion link from the forecasters themselves is the best:

Question, Josh stated he looked at the GFS computer run? How did he have access to that? I think he is a meteorologist or in class for one, (someone on this site is, and walt pretty much is).

Or you could know a meteorologist.

Looks like I'm wearing some pants, short sleeve shirt and a light jacket.

There are numerous sites with public access to computer weather models. You just have to know how to read them.

And no, I'm not a meteorologist, but I am a weather junkie, and studied up until college to be a meteorologist, but then life took another direction... I was even in the Northern Indiana Young Meteorologists association... oh those were the days...

The second link is from one of my former instructors at Penn State. It's a good reference for weather geeks.

Yes it is... and I guess the fact that I sometimes sit there and refresh it waiting for a new model run to come in qualifies me as a weather geek...
