I can sing it (and I went to GVSU) as well as some of the "alternate" verses.

I like it at anytime but the night is amazing, I rode it in the back seat one time at night and absolutly loved it. But get the front if you can that is truly the best seat.

When you know Magnum is going to be down for more than an hour.

As funny as that is, I've seen it happen a couple times. I'm not exactly sure why maintenance couldn't wait untill the offseason to replace the rails in 2004. I could only speculate.

Yep, Magnum also seems to burn through a lift motor just about every year which has been about 3-4 hours in my experiences.

Then you will have those mornings once or twice a season when it is down from opening until 11:30 or so for "welding."

Most other down time is 5-10 minutes here or there for a bad wheel.

That ride is normally pretty solid though. I think they could probably care for the trains a bit better than they do since they take a pretty good beating.

Curious - what do they weld, MDOmnis?

I have seen them welding track while I was walking the path around Breakers & Sandcastle, one early morning before the park was open.

What don't they weld at CP? :) Track, supports, trains, platform gates, signs are all things frequently welded probably in any amusement park.

I was actually surprised to learn how often it happens. But I guess it's not really a cause for concern since the rails on Magnum were welded together when the ride was first built.

Now when they start using duct tape, that's another story... ;)

C'mon, everyone knows duct tape will fix anything. And it's waaay more durable than welding two pieces of metal together....;)

Duct tape works good on kids mouths, too...

Just for future reference... :)

My favorite time to ride is the morning

-Best way to start the day

-Shorter lines

-Best chance at a roll-back

I'd very much like to experience a rollback. Better yet, I'd like to get stuck on the TH... Do you think they'd bring me a cup of coffee if we were stuck up there? I can't imagine a better morning than being 420 feet up, sipping my coffee and looking around the park. :)

haha, my friend and I were joking about me owning Dragster. He asked if I would sleep in a train. I said "No, I'd camp out on the catwalk on the tophat and a train going over would be my alarm clock.":)

Ive seen from my past experiences that the middle of the day is the best.It doesnt always open with the rest of the park and later in the evening seems to be a typical time for down time. So about 1pm-5 pm usually works for me.

When I got to ride it for my first time in May of 2005, my dad and I went straight for it and got on with about a 5 minute wait. It also depends on where you want to sit in the train. For example, if you want to ride front or back row, you can expect longer lines. If you want to ride in the middle (like I did), there will be shorter lines.

I say, unless you're aiming for front or back row, take the shortest line. Any seat (aside from the front and back) is good on Dragster.:) The same can be said for Millennium.

Typically, I don't wait for the front or back on TTD & MF. On other coasters I do, provided the overall wait is considerably less than an hour.

This year, I think, I'll be waiting for those front seats.

There is NOTHING like a front seat ride on either of the big ones. Millie you'll end with tear streaks going back from your eyes, and the first time I rode Top Thrill front seat I lost my voice =D

Both are WELL worth the wait in my opinion, the last seat on Dragster is pretty good too (nice kick when you enter the upward curve).
