18 to work rides at the Point, including Wicked Twister. If you are willing to work at its big brother, Steel Venom, you only have to be 16, or at least you did earlier in the season.

I can't wait to be working Steel Venom again!

I believe the train will fire through the station if the e-stop was hit while on the back spike. However, when the e-stop button is hit (or the light curtain is broken) I would imagine that everything is shut down. I would bet that just passing through the station begins to slow the train down and then probably comes to a complete stop out on the brake run. I highly doubt it could come to a complete stop from the back spike...much too painful.

Working Wicked Twister was one of the best times of my life (not to mention my best job ever)! It sure is a blast and the crew is completely awesome!

Jeff, I could have sworn that I saw little electrical gremlins chewing on some cables. ;)

It's not always people that break the light curtain though. Earlier this year I saw the ride e-stop out by the front spike after a bird flew through the station and broke the curtain.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Weee Wicked Twister... If a light curtain happens to be broken when the train is going up the back spike... yes, it will still go through the station out to the front on the break run... YAY! :)

Jordan... awe, I miss you! :) You should have kept bugging Knauf to come back!! But, you must come visit and ride Twister! :) And you're right... our crew is awesome... YAY for us! :)

I heard that sometimes the LIM's wont fire right or or messed up, that it has to recharge the magnets.

So if someone were to break the light curtain on the rear spike, and say run out onto the platform, they are as good as dead. Kinda weird that there is no safety measure for such a thing. Essentially the ride is protected for half the cycle...

Another note. I thought Steel Venom at Valleyfair (or Geuaga Lake for that matter) would be considered Wicked Twister's LITTLE brother, not big brother...

That's what I thought. But, everyone has their own opinions.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

When I was there one day, the train was going through its last round through the forward spike where it just braked imediatly. All the people jerked forward, and they were all very unhappy. They then did this thing where it sounded like some time of air pressure pushed it back. And then they did a test run and they let us on.

Well they might consider SV WT's big bro since it was built before it

So does that make Xcellerator at KBF Top Thrill Dragster's big brother?

"Hi, I'm the tallest coaster in the world's big brother..." ;)

WT did it again yesterday - e-stopped the ride right after I got off, and funny enough, did its half-way up the second back-spike approach just as I was explaining how the second back-spike is the best part. We left before the train was pushed back into the station, but I figured the exact same thing happened then what happened before to some of you guys - e-stop.

The last time I saw the WT I didn't notice it.

I would like to have a battle of the wits with you...but you seem unprepared.

Jeff,
Where I work its a running joke between the engineers, and us lab techs. when something goes wrong we need to either replace the aluminum magnets(no such thing), or turn up/down the gravity generator. I was just being a little sarcastic. I was just making a funny.....At least I thought it was!
