You don't recharge magnets. the joke (for us) is there is no such thing as aluminum magnets, or gravity intensifiers and sometimes the co-opps that work here will look for alu. magnets, and gravity knobs.

I get it, my dad's in building, and when I or him cuts a board too short, he says, go get the board stretcher, as does my uncle. Of course, there's no such thing as a board stretcher, so I see where your coming from imadj. The first time my uncle said that, I actually started walking towards the tools.
