Heh, I'm quite surprised how quick it took people to complain about it...

Well... one of the things I liked about Millennium Force was the lights at night. I always thought that looked neat, even if it was just a light effect and nothing else. The fact it was on the banner would bring back those feelings.

Not that I stared at it for hours... but while on the site it was neat to have at the top.

If by complain you mean that I'm dissatisfied about it... yeah I am.... but am I going to boycott the park/site or send email to them about it? No. It's not that drastic in my life.

That's cool. Did anyone notice that TTD seems to move, a little, after the train finishes the ride.

Actually, I think that is the track lighting up after the train passes. That will be pretty cool if they do that - will look kind of like a motion blur effect. Talk about going all out for theming.

The more animation, the longer it takes to load. Besides, as a PR move, they are focusing solely on the new ride. I'll have to check out the night one tonight.

Regarding the load time of the animation...

Someone pointed out that the Dragster animation includes Millennium Force (I did not check myself). Note that for an animated graphic of a particular size, the number of frames would be the same for two animations in a single graphic. Might look a little strange if both rides are running in sync, though... :)

All this talk about broadband users...when I had 56k, those front page pictures took forever to load. I even wrote a little e-mail explaining how I felt their photos were not of sufficient size for low-speed users.

I think it's a shame that they can only keep one ride running at a time. Is the banner being run by Six Flags or something? :)

Ahh, you all have it so good with Cedar Fair, but some of us actually LIKE Six Flags...

I'm for bamaboy...i think the only reason CP visitors insult Six Flags parks are because they're all depressed that their horses (the only means of transportation they have) cant get across the country to actually visit a Six Flags park. (Please, get with the technology, CP fans)...Cause we all know Cedar Point is out in the middle of freakin nowhere.

Besides, Six Flags is getting so powerful in the amusement park business, they'll probably buy out CP in the not too distant future. Then all these CP fans will be going "Six Flags has made this park better than its ever been." You'll all see.

The way i see it, its all jealousy, really.

First, Cedar Point is 6 hours or less from Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Buffalo, and Indianapolis. It's in the 'middle of freakin everywhere'.

Your post is either sarcastic or you're ignorant about the amusement park industry. If you're not sure, here's an example of sarcasm: "I hope Cedar Point is bought by Six Flags and they make CP a super cool park just like World of Adventure."

It doesn't take a Cedar Point fanboy to know who the industry leader is.

All I meant by my post is that I like going to Six Flags parks. I don't, however, see the need to be sarcastic. I have been to CP as well as many SF parks and I like them all. I am an enthusiast. As far as being the industry leader, I think CP is. Just look at the rides CP has versus SF parks. Class A attractions. But SF also has some very good rides and I can visit a SF park pretty much where ever I travel to, as there are now so many of them. If I go to New Orleans (45 min. away) there is a park. If I go visit friends in Shreveport there is one only 2 hours away. If I go visit my brother in Houston, there is a park there. Or, if I go visit my father in Birmingham, AL there is a park only two hours away. They are everywhere.

My mother lives in Kalamazoo, MI and it is pretty much an act of God to get me there, so CP is not so reachable to me. When I visit her, I take a sabbatical to CP for 2 days to get all my rides in.

As well as lookinf for world class rides, I also see things from the perspective of convenience, and a 3 month a year window to a park 800 miles away from me is just not convenient.
