Stoped at the top?????

CP_bound

I think he is talking about if it rolls back. Every so often, Xcelerator misfires. I would like to be on a train that misfires because I would be two rides in one.

That would be pretty cool, except if there wasn't any way to stop the train from flying back into the station. That would make a pretty ugly site. Though you might be famous.

Just a thought.

Too bad, there is. Those copper fins that fly up after the train is launched.

SteelMonsters

That is what I'm talking about. Sorry if I wasn't being clear enough for you to understand...

I think it would be a unique experince, let alone two launches for one wait. :)

I can't wait till I experince that launch. The fastest i've been launched, is 1-13MPH on MF. (yeah I know it's pathetic, but it will really add toto my first launch on #16)

You think Wicked Twister is too tall? Are you even gonna ride #16?
+0

SteelMonsters

Not the ride, I'll ride anything. I'm too tall. When the OTSR goes down, the belt doesn't quite make it. It sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it.

That would make SteelMonsters shorter, but not in a way as to allow him to ride WT. Nice try though.

You should be able to ride WT. I'm 6' 4"... and I can ride it. All you have to do is relax man. Dont' stand on your tipy toes. Thats about the only way you wouldn't be able to ride.

oldrider

Config at top could be a safety brake of some kind
in case of ride abort.

I wonder if weather will play a part in the every day ops of #16? Remember maggy got stopped by the wind off the lake.

Maybe some of you aren't understanding that SteelMonsters can't ride WT because of his lower body, but his torso being too tall. That has nothing to do with his feet or "tipy toes"...

My quess is that the object at the top is a anti-rollback safety feature, just incase something like what happened to the magnum in the pretzel loop happens to #16. A storm blew in off the lake many years ago and stopped the train cold in the loop, a crane had to move the train back to the station. It would really suck if you got as close to the crest of the tophat as possible, and stopped falling straight back down towards the station.

TigerKiger

Yeah, but if eing launched at about 125mph, I really dought that the train would slow down enough. But it really depends on how much speed you have when you go over the tophat.

An easy way to tell if they are brakes is to look for hardware There are not any pneumatic lines, hyraulic lines, or electrical lines beneath it. Brakes don't just work magic. This picture shows the top peice. There is no brake hardware anywhere on this peice nuff said.

I don't think that there are gonna be brakes on the top hat. And if someone asks then why do they have the steps at the top. If i'm not mistake thats for the workers and the remote possiblity that a stong enough gust of wind would some how stop the train on the top.

Someone help me i'm in denial about Project 2003.

Fluidcoasters

How would it go about getting stuck at the top by wind? Even if it did stop i wouldnt just stop and stay up there. Gravity exists even in cedar point 400 + feet up.
