Airtime

Superman: Ultimate Escape

Well, airtime is definately a big factor to a ride's excitement. Especially on fairly short rides like this. So how long should we expect the floating to last? I hear that STE at SFMM has about 6 seconds of zero g. So I guess this ride will have 5,6,or 7 seconds of zero g.

But there's also a twist down, so will that decrease the amount of airtime?

Wow, the six seconds of airtime was missing on my ride on S:TE back in June. I don't really remember any airtime on the ride. I have faith that Dragster will bring enough airtime to silence the critics!

STE has 6.5 seconds of airtime because it is a long path straight up - losing speed - and straight down -gaining speed again-

Dragster is totally different, as it is "Up and over" and will be a continuous circuit. I would expect at the top of the hill, to have a few seconds of airtime though.

In my opinion, The best idea would be...since this ride is so short...Would make it launch twice, Launch ones at about half the speed. Then come back down and launch again and over the tower. That would be amazing And increase ride time considerably.

How would that increase ride time and capacity, Big D.

Say the ride is 30 seconds from launch to brake, and people were launched twice, then the ride time would be 60 seconds, double the original idea.

Floating? what are you talking about?

When your coming out of a vertical climb, you will experience negitive G's. Since the tophat is parabolic curve, you will experience about the same amount of negitive G's through the whole tophat.

Big D never said it would increase capicity. What he means by increased ride time is that the ride time would be nearly doubled and make the ride seem longer.

Exactly, So...Capacity would go down a little, But the ride would be more worth Riding.

yeah it would increase the ride time. and also the wait. think about it... if it launches twice, you can only have one train. sure...no problem with that.

There are the three transfer tracks out there... Not only could it hold multiple trains, but I bet they could be used to shuffle trains around for a multiple launch setup.

It's just an idea.

Besides, you get launched more than once on Wicked Twister. ;)

The thing is, when Xcelerator rolls back, it takes a few minutes to get back into luanching position. You can pretty much rule out the idea.

It seems to me that #16 will go straight up a longer distance than STE and should feature zero G's on the way up and on the way down. The top hat however will probably be negative G's so the total time of zero G's will still be more than that of STE but it will be broken into two segments seperated by negative G's.

But the zero G's on S:TE aren't because it goes straight up... they are because the car stalls and then comes back down. Same story with Wicked Twister. #16 is different, since it doesn't stall and come back down (well, unless it's a rollback situation ;) ).

This ride will feature coming out of your seat airtime...something that Superman does not give you. That should be plenty terrifying at 400+ ft.

If there was a new way...I'd be the first in line.

IF they could make the Reloading proccess mor Efficient and have like a launching station where the trans are launched from, That would work out...While this train is running its course the other train is loading and unloading.

Amazing that being launched at 117 mph up a 400 + foot tower and twisting down that 400+ foot tower isn't good enough for some people.

I realize double launches, and extra element suggestions are just that...wishes and wants. But give it up already. You people sound like broken records.

Oh...wait...you probably don't know what records are.
