I like the name "Escape Velocity" ... sort of a sly slap at "Superman: The Escape" :-)

rcdb.com has this coaster listed as "unknown." So, I think the perfect name would be "The Unknown"!!!!

I truly believe I know the name of the new coaster. I was given the very likely name by a friend of mine who I consider to know what they are talking about. I eluded to the name in a different posting, but I believe that post was removed from the boards for good reasons. It wouldn't be fair for me to release the name if I really know it. Sorry folks!

Between DRAGSTER and REDLINE, I like DRAGSTER better. Just a thought...

Yeah really, I mean Banshee was an awesome name! Stupid GP.

Who or what is the "GP"? I know some members of our tribal community were contacted by Cedar Point officials regarding the name "Banshee". It was a strange issue. No one seems to mind that Siouxsie And The Banshees exist! Personally I don't like the name "Mantis".

It only takes a few over zealous people to put a bad spin on something. Example: The local high school was going to have a self-proclaimed "witch" come to the school for halloween activities, including fortune telling, dream interpretation, etc. This witch was a very nice older lady, I might add.

The furor a few people caused was enough for the school to back down and cancel most of the halloween activities.

THOSE are the kinds of GP Cedar Point doesn't want to offend.

I don't think that's over zealous. I'd be upset if someone like that came to my child's school.

GP is an abbreviation for General Public, the typical amusement park visitor or non-enthusiast.

sigma one, I for one would like to know who this person that works on the Gemini is that told your dad that's what the name would be. I am the only guy on the crew who still goes to school, and I certainly don't know your dad.

If this Ride is anything like those cars,We're in for a awsome ride!:) I also have to say that "Redline" is a great name. But until the anouncement is made I'll just think of it as "Project 03' ".

I thought of a name also. Yes, I know that nobody has to take this into account. But, what about Adrenaline Rush?

Ok, I know that Cedar Point has been real good about being silent with the new ride. Which makes me beleive that the name will not be "Dragster". I don't think they would have printed the name of the ride all over every new shipment and leave it laying around for "our" wonderinf eyes to see. Especially if it was the real name. I think that the name "Dragster" is just a code name so to speak, or just a slang term for a new type of ride which is characterized by then name dragster. Meaning you could call XLR8R a dragster type coaster. So i dont beleive that dragster is the real name.

i think they are just going to hang up a big sign on the tower that says "hey, this is what the new ride is going to look like and this is what it's called."

Don't give anyone any Ideas

I think "dragster" might be just a name to throw us off. There may be more to this coaster than just a "dragster" type of layout.
