Your list of things you bring IN to the park....

Always on me:
-SP
-$20
-Credit Card

Always brought in but usually in a locker (once it gets warm and I lose pocket space:)
-Full Wallet
-Phone
-Car Keys

Soak City Trips (ie put in the Soak City Lockers)
-Duffle bag containing swim suit, new clothing, shampoo, soap, deodorant and a towel
-Water Shoes

In my pockets I have my cell phone, my pass and some money. In an insulated bag is my sting kit, water bottle, bathing suit and I drop my keys in there.

Usually just a sweatjacket (when the park opens and also in the fall late Sept. on), cash (I hate using debt cards at the park if they arn't needed), a bottle of water (I can always fill up at the drinking fountains and it won't cost a dime.. although the Raptor attendant said I had to get rid of it and it couldn't be put in the bins, so I ended up spending 3 dollars on another bottle).

A small digital camera too, it can hold up to 10 seconds of video footage, although that isn't really a lot, but when I put them on YouTube I got quite a response from Maverick and TTD.

No I don't take pictures on the rides, just when I'm on the ground looking at them.

I try to take as little as possible because most rides don't have bins to put things in and then you have to rent a locker, which I find inconvenient, but if you buy a lot of stuff, you almost have to.

Im still a teen, so I just bring my wallet, the occasional camera, poncho (because oddly it rained 2/3 days when I was their 2 seasons ago.) Snacks.. I get kinda hungry sometimes and some food at the point is a little expensive. Umm, I think thats its..

Dylan, you should marinate some steaks or pork chops for 1-2 days, pre-cook some little red potatoes and re-wrap them in aluminum foil. Then get a little corn and wrap it up in aluminum foil. Come over to the grills and do a little Emeril this and little Emeril that and bada bing your cooking up fine dining at CP in the pavilions. Really guys, you can plan some awesome family picnic kind of stuff at the CP.
Just don't forget condiments and silver wear....
Don't let the food prices turn you off, you can make your own food at the point. If I smell something good I will probably seek you out myself :)

Personally myself I never leave the house without a marinated steak and some dry ice. Thats just me though. Keep my meat cold and flavorful....

Or you can check out the $5.00 hot dog and chips (huge like quarter pound half dog) around the park. There was a bratwurst stand that was like $5.69 by Maverick / Chik-fil-a
Its a good deal to get you by...my girlfriend and I would split a dog to get us through the day.

The reason they do bag searches at many of the parks is because something has happened at that park. for example at Canada's Wonderland someone was stabbed with a knife, a couple of kids were molested, and another kidnapped. Everyone thinks bag searches are a waste of time until something happens and then people are like why didn't the park have a system in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening. All the parks in florida have security entrances. I think CP should as well and you all will when something happens, and it will because people now a days are even more stupid, and for those in gangs trying to show off.

Car keys, ATM/debit card and sometimes a cell phone. That's it.

As far as bag searches, metal detectors, etc. - don't want them. The negatives far outweigh the benefits in my opinion.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Wallet $40, Cell Phone, Camera, Ipod. Thats All

I brought a lot more when I've went to Michigan Adventure though and I won't ever bring that much again to any park! I also suggest wearing some type of shorts of pants that have at least one pocket that either zips or is velcrowed to hold some of the items so theres less of a chance of them falling out.

To the park: Season pass, money, phone & my sister brings in her camera so we can make videos of my "brother" dancing in line :)

To Soak City (obviously I put it in a locker): Towel, change of clothes, flip flips, Season Pass and money.

So stoked for 2010 :]

I prefer to bring in a sweat rag too so I can wipe my brow when its like 300 degrees out.

I bring a cooler of food, but leave it in the pavilion for lunch, which I consider a better meal than you can get in the park. In the actual park I bring my wallet, phone, and keys. That's all I need except water. I try to get that from the fountains, but I sometimes buy a bottle anyways.

What do you do about leaving your food at the "pavilion" do they have a holding system so you can store your own food? it looks like buying food can be pricey.

You just leave your cooler on a picnic table at your own risk. I've never heard of anyone having their cooler messed with though.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

For 2008 I am incorporating purell hand sanitizer on me at any given time. On top of avoiding leaning on the railings which are germ havens. I plan on using the the sanitizer every time I get off a ride.

Last year I caught I believe 2 colds after going to Cedar Point. Maybe my body wasn't prepared enough for the endeavor ahead (the CP trip), or I was leaning on too many germ covered rails.

I hope to combat those problems with this sanitizer solution.

Also, you could buy some sort of bike lock / heck they might even have cooler locks and you could lock your cooler to a picnic table. That sounds like a pretty good idea actually. Bring your stuff to your picnic table, lock it up an leave it.

KY Gell, Rubbers, Sunscreen, Cell Phone, Money, Wallet...........................and more rubbers.

The first time I went to Cedar Point about 5 years ago, I had just started a new type of medication for my diabetes. I was required to carry certain things with me that just wouldn't fit in cargo pants pockets or a fanny pack. Before, heading to the rides I went to the first aide station and they gave me a note that would allow to leave a bag at the ride station while me and my now husband rode the ride. This worked great except for one ride. For some reason the cork screw ride operators would not accept the note. My advise if you have medical reasons that you need to carry more than a pocket full try the first aide staition, however; I was disapointed I couldn't go on that one ride.

FOOD!

Kosher Food!

Ok, I usually don't bring it into the park, but I have done grilled outside the park. In my humble opinion, the best food I ever had at the park was Kosher (or Kosher style) burgers right outside the front gate. While Kosher meat is expensive, grilling your own food tastes much better than the crap they serve in the park, so even if you aren't saving much money, your stomach thanks you.

I have a friend that keeps Kosher, so when I visit the park with him, we usually grill out since there aren't any certified Kosher food stands at the park that I know of (though there are probably Kosher items sold in the park, it would be hard to find a completely Kosher meal).

In terms of firearms, I don't like it when places tell you that you aren't allowed to bring in a gun. BUT, in the case of amusement parks, guns, in my opinion, pose much more of a threat than in other locations. I wouldn't want to bring a gun on a ride, and there is no way I'd let my gun out of my sight if it wasn't unlocked. A loose gun seems like a very unsafe loose article!

And no, I DO NOT OWN A GUN.

If I did, how does the park's gun rule work? Can you leave your gun locked up in your car. I'd love to get training and get a concealed carry permit, but so many places don't allow guns that I don't know what the benefit would be.

So is there a place in Sandusky where you can store your gun?

I have no problem with guns not being allowed in the park. I think that is a very responsible rule. But my question still remains: Can you keep your gun locked in your car?

Again, I do not own a gun, but am curious about the rules.

^No you cant have a gun anywhere on the CP property (this includes parking lots)

This is because of the well publicized parking lot gang shootouts at some more urban parks and the fact that gun + lots of heat (from summer sun soaked car)= accidental discharge
