Do you guys know that first hand (ie: you directly saw the prices) or did you hear that though the grape vine?

Gasbuddy.com is not showing any of these extreme trends.

I heard on a Detroit radio station that gas prices were going up to the $6 area. An owner of a gas station called in saying it was true. Take that as you will.

Edited to add that gas prices in Windsor went from $122.2/litre to $140.0/litre at most stations.

Perhaps that's true, but I wonder if it's isolated or widespread.

It's being blamed on hurricane Ike. $140.0/litre is the most expensive I've ever seen it.

One hundred forty dollars a litre? That is expensive. Looks like I won't be driving to Canada any time soon. ;)

Seriously gas is not $6.00 here in Grand Haven. But my coworker sitting in the cube next to me. His mother called from Mount Pleasant and he was told gas is $6.00+ a gallon.

I hope that gas prices are not $6.00/gallon. I have to drive all the way down to Alabama next week. I don't think I will beable to afford it with those kinds of prices. If that is true, I am praying that they will go back down soon!

At 2:00p.m. today, I saw gas selling at $4.99 here in Jackson. There were long lines of people waiting to buy gas at stations that had not raised their prices yet. I just went past a station that was at $4.99 and it is now at $4.09. I am among the unemployed, and I can't buy much gas as is. If prices continue to go up, I will be unable to continue to look for work.

Isnt it amazing to go back and see how we were talking about 'high' gas prices at 1.69. and here we are looking at 5 dollars a gallon.

Apparently $4.99 a gallon was confirmed here in Michigan. Some people are going to be in some big trouble when the Attorney General has time to prosecute that BS.

They created a panic. Allendale had a line of cars at one gas station selling for $3.88.

In Mooresville, NC, the only type of gas that is available is premium as of 9/12 and it is selling at $5/gallon. Because of Ike, there was a run on gas here. Not sure how long premium will last either. The same thing happened when Katrina hit. On Saturday, gas stations got their delivery of gas and varies anywhere from $3.899 to $4.299.

It always amazes me that gas in Canada can go up $0.20/litre because of a hurricane that is hitting Texas. We have more than enough gas to support our country and yours, and Alberta isn't faced with many hurricanes.
