The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

This experince has nothing to do with Cedar Point but since Cedar Fair owns this park also I thought I would post this...

On 04-13-03 a friend and I went to Worlds of Fun and were having a great time until the second time on the Detonator. If you dont know what the Detonator is it WOF version of Power Tower. Well this was the second ride and at first it was normanal until I was shot into the air. As I was shot into the air my safety harness came undone and I started to eject from my seat but my friend saved my life,by holding me back in the seat the attendants response was "Im sorry." That only enraged me more and the incident was reported to the Ride manager who use to work at Cedar Point. My friend and I are both new employees at Cedar Point this summer and I thought you might find this intresting. While the incident is still under investigation because it just happened today there are two possible casues 1. The belt buckle broke or 2. The buckle was never secure in the first place. This questions the safety of the SS Power Rides as maybe they need more support what do you all think? and has this ever happened at Power Tower?

Thats scary...

At Kings Island, I was riding Vortex with my cousin, and right before the first drop and both our harnesses popped up... My cousin started scream as we bothfranticly pulled them down... we were so sacred afterwards, we went home(it was like one oclock...)

I was with 2 young boys last year and they were dying to ride the go-carts. They were not tall enough to ride the fast ones, but the sprints were ok. So I bought double ride tickets for them and they ran to the ride w/o the tickets. I told one of the ride ops that I had the tickets and he took 2 of them and said that it was no problem. The boys rode the ride and I told them to stay in the cars for the 2nd ride. Another ride op went to the boys for their tickets, which they didn't have, and started to use a extemely stern voice with them. I tried explaining that I had the tickets and she told me to back off. I again tried explaining to her the situation to her and ahe proceeded to telll me to shut- up. I was in the state of shock. I did call the operations office in the morning, and a gentleman assured me that this would be handled.

There was a funny situation that turned great for my wife and I. We got to CP at 3:30am on a Sat with no reservations, and Breakers actually had 1 more room left. When we got to the room there was a "Do Not Disturb" sign on it. I would not go in, but used a house phone to call the room, and there was someone in it. I started laughing. We went back to the desk, and the clerk apologized immensely. She ended up giving us the Pres. Suite for 2 days, for the price of the original room. That was a GREAT time!

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

that wasn't so bad was it?

Hey lewis is there a reason you need to post that story 2 times on there i'm pretty sure everyone saw it the first time.

wow you were with 2 young boys , uhoh my mom told me to watch out for men like you hahaha
Please don't make up stories to make Cedar Point or Cedar Fair parks to make them look bad as I don't buy some of the crap thats been posted here. Its a joke and I don't find it funny. A true bad experiance is one thing but making stuff up is insult to the employees who work hard to make sure you have a good time and to make sure that you have a safe ride.

Well, this IS a topic asking what your worst experience was. I, for one, never saw that post and found it quite interesting and kinda scary.

A couple years ago we went to CP on a choir/band trip and it rained and was FREEZING all day. We hardly got any rides in, that kinda sucked... Something else, a different year, a lady burned me with her cigarette right on my hand as she was emphatically talking and waving all over. I yelled and she just looked at me, no apology even... geez :)

Friend 1 to me: What is with you and Cedar Point? You're obsessed.
Friend 2 to her: You have no idea.

I hate cigarette burns, almost as much as oven burns...

Riding in the front seat of the Corkscrew, they started the ride out of the station, but the harness wasn't locked and everyone in our car was yelling to stop the ride and frantically waving at the ops until one of them noticed and stopped us when the train was 2/3 of the way out of the station. Oops :)

One of the more entertaining weird things to happen was going up the Magnum lift hill, when I turned to my wife and said "wouldn't it suck if we got stuck up here?" and right when I said that, the ride lurched to a halt. Turns out that somebody tossed their cookies in the car in the station and they had to stop the ride to clean it up. Yum. I'm sure that's not a terribly uncommon experience though, right? It wasn't a bad experience for me, but probably was for the poor op who had to clean it up!

Come on people, this poetry's not going to appreciate itself!

one time on MF, my train was stoped at the brakes before the deloading staion and we sat there for almost ten minutes because they had to clean up a 'guest illness'...

------------------
"Will you sprinkle my fries?"

and then there was this time with an absolutely insane running of the bulls. I managed to get in early (CP Booster Bucks, great program) and my friends and i got 2 rides on MF in before we decided to move on. We stood at the train track crossing, and the amount of people on the other side was about 12, then about 80, then 500, then nearly 1000 people were on the other side of the tracks. When the gates went up, we moved out of the way.

before they had worked out all the bugs out of MF. me and a friend got stuck at the top for at least 15 mins. it was scary at first, but then we kinda had a nice view of the park so it wasn't to bad, then the ride started back up and i was scared again (it was my first time).

You're lucky, the longest time I've spent at the top of the MF hill was 2 minutes. I did get to spend 20 minutes at the peak of MS last summer. These certainly weren't bad experiances, especially since the MS incident got me a front of the line pass.

In 2001, my friend and I got in for JCC ERT and rode MF 4 times. It was very hot that morning, and my freind couldn't wait for ERT to be over so he could go to a bathroom and get some water. After that, we ended up on Mantis, and he shut the ride down for 20 minutes when his 2 egg McMuffins exploded on the back of the seat in front of him. Luckily, we were in the brakes at the time, so it didn't get all over everyone. Only time I've ever left the park at 11 AM.
