worst experience?

What has your worst experience at cp been? mine would be having a wet and smelly sock thrown in my face form the train next to me on gemini, or riding mf in a downpour, the little beads of water smaking me in the face feeling like thousands of needles, my face stung for quite a while after the ride...

i remeber you went home sick that day, and i had to ride mantis with the mute and a hippie. not a fun situation you left me in, xed...

Mine would have to be when my whole family(25 in all) went on our annual trip to CP. A few of my cousins and I were going to ride Raptor at the end of the day before we left and there was a storm coming. We got up to the station and my 2 cousins and I wanted to wait for the front and my sister and other cousin went in line in the middle. Just as my sister's train left the station they saw lightning. They got the last ride of the night and we waited 30 minutes in line just to walk back down. The upside of this was when we got back down it started pouring and we had to run to the back of the park to the Soak City parking lot in the dark. It was awesome!

Well me and my friend decided to ride Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon in our regular clothes, knowing that we didnt have a change of clothes. So our shirts and pants dried out fine, but as you all know socks dont, and there is nothing worse that wearing wet socks.

So we went to CPs gift shops looking for shoes, only to find flip flops, and swim shoes, which we got, and we wore them the whole day. I can tell you its a very strange feeling to have the wind ripping through your shoes on Raptor, lol.

I was cussed out by a Magnum op back in 2001 besause some tool behind me was standing on the return run with the same color shirt on as me. The only difference in our shirts was that mine had Guide To The Point slapped on the front of it. The op put his foot on my lapbar and pressed down and told me just becuase I'm an entusiast doens't mean I can do what ever the (insert word here) I want on his god (again... more profanity here) coaster.

"Wheres the Callahan factory?!?!?"

I twenty years i have never had a bad experience at CP to remember.
my worst experience??

lets see..theres two that come to mind...

the first trip we ever took to CP was marred by the fire alarm going off in Breakers at 3AM. we had to evacuate the hotel. it was cold and not at all fun. it turns out that some idiot kid on a school trip decided to hold a lighter up to the sprinkler in his room and it set off the alarm.

when we complained about it at the front desk the next morning, we were told "oh its those school trips. this happens all the time. if there WAS a fire, you wouldnt be complaining." RRRGGHHH. good thing the rest of the trip made up for it.

and my OTHER worst experience was at Midway Market last May. we had theWORST service i have EVER experienced in my life! 45 minutes to get anything to drink. 20 plates, all dirty, piled up on the table. nothing. a complint to the manager yielded nothing more than

"Its his first day. give him a break."

its a FREAKING BUFFET!! how hard can it be??

needless to say we noted this guys name and we make sure every time we go back that we ask NOT to be seated with him.

hopefully he WONT be back this year.

so there you have it. my worst CP experiences.

one of my other pretty bad experiences, xed, was when my flip-flops blew up in line for Power Tower. that was pretty bad. if i remember straight (correct me if im wrong, xed) i had to carry my shoes for a goodly amount of time until we got to the first aid station near Peanuts Playground, and they wrapped em up in medical tape. wow did i ever look like a loser the rest of the day.

yes mr.kielbasa, the flip-flop tragedy was rather horrific... you did look like a fool...

Your flip flops "blew up"? Please go into more detail! lol
When your flip flops have a blow out, you need Flip-Flop Fix-A-Flat. :)

When I'm at CP, I always wear flip flops. They are comfortable to walk in, they dry easily, and it's great to take them off and leave them at the coaster stations and to ride some coasters barefooted!! (It makes your toes feel so free on Raptor!!)

my best and worst experience ever would be me and my family did a T.V. show for Cedar Point on the Travel Channel.....It was about the Breakers Hotel (cause we stay in the Penthouse there like twice a year) and a short blurb about the park......

The Bad Experience was that it TOOK all FREAKIN day to film and it wasn't really that cool and we wasted half of our time NOT being in the park...

The Good Experience was we got to cut in line on a few Coasters to get some on-ride filming in ;) it was great ......

well, Raptor1117, i was walking down the queue to Power Tower Space Shot, just walking normally, when all of a sudden, i fell flat on my face. hmmm, how queer. it seems as though they just blew up, one of the straps broke, and my other foot's flip-flop strap was getting pretty flimsy. wow was that ever odd.

My worst experience turned out really good. I was in Fridays in the Breakers. I just ordered food with my friend and cousin then the power started flickering. The power then went out and we were told to stay in our seats. About five minutes later the fire alarm goes off. We again were told to stay in our seats and that it was a false alarm. Well the manager came by and told us to leave. We went out an emergency exit and waited. About 15 minutes later the alarm was off and the power was flickering then came on. We went back in and the manager offered us our food for free! So we got Jack Daniels chicken for free! My sister was about to ride PT when that happened and they were pissed we got free food!

Forgive me seasoned GTTP'ers for sharing this story yet once more!! ;)
My worst experience ever had to be 1998. It was 7am and my youngest (who was almost 10 at the time) and I were on Rte 4 nearing Bucyrus. There was horrific fog that morning and visibility was maybe 20'. All I remember is seeing headlights directly in front of my car. I immediately swirved to the right, hit the gravel, I tried to steer back on the road again, and my car ('93 Hyundai Scoupe) proceeded to literally spin.a 180 to the other side of Rte 4. By the time we stopped, we were on the other side of the street, facing the opposite way, and evidentually I had let go of the clutch cause we had stalled. All I remember is thinking I had to get the car started again and moved up since my back end was still in the road and if someone came along they would hit me. I pulled forward, and had to sit there 10 minutes before I stopped shaking. That's right, some Ahole was trying to PASS traffic despite horrid fog, and that's right....no one stopped to make sure we were ok. If we had been anywhere else on Rte 4 we would have ended up in a ditch when I swirved off the road. God had to be watching down on us because I don't know how we managed NOT to get creamed while we were spinning out of control.
How could this day get any worse???
Weather was horribly hot, park was horribly crowded. I had accidentially left my lights on so when we went to leave the park, my car alarm had been going off (it reset itself when my battery was dieing) so battery dead, plus I didnt have my alarm remote-never used my alarm at CP before (do now, but not then, it was a Hyundai ;)) Waited 40 minutes to get a jump from CP. Now 2 issues here, the alarm did not go off again when car got jumped but that meant that I couldn't shut the car off cause it would set itself again (I had the directions on the valet remote at home) so I was forced to make the 2.75 hour one way trip home straight. Second, the Hyundai invention of the inoperable car radio if stolen has to do with the power being shut off and a code # to make radio work. I had NO radio either since my code #s were also at home. No stopping (and 3 Dews under my belt) and NO music for 2.75 hours. My daughter had fallen asleep as soon as we hit the causeway so even talking to her was out of the question. Then we almost got rearended by some speeding semi on Rte 23. It was the worst and longest trip home from CP ever! :(
By the time we got home I was in tears-my b/f (at the time) freaked when he saw my car because my back wheels were COVERED in gravel dust-I was a mess, and so depressed!! I told him that I would NEVER EVER go back to CP again. :(
Of course, that was a lie since my daughter and I went again 2 weeks later and ended up having a BALL! No fog or Aholes on Rte 4 and no crowds made all the difference! :)
THAT was without a doubt my worst experience EVER! And thankfully my last!! :)

That really depresses me luvRaptor, all that bad stuff happening to you. I probably never would have wanted to go back to cp if that had happened to me...
