Windseeker Testing

^^You are in for a wonderful ride.

I was watching it all day yesterday before it opened. And I mean ALL day. My girlfriend and I sat on the boardwalk watching the state inspect it (we left for an hour to eat at Perkins in The Breakers). I saw no bumping at all in any of the test runs. The seats came pretty close to each other but I saw nothing actually hit. When we were on the ride our seats came close to the ones in front of ours but there was still room for me to stick my legs straight out without touching. I don't think bumping is an issue except for a very rare case of extreme winds.

And many rides at the park don't opperate in extreme winds. Windseeker will probably be another.

The max winds at the top of the tower have to be less than 34mph according to the ride op I was talking to yesterday (Howie was his name). It was very windy on the ground after dark, but it got calmer up above. He said there were brief gusts of 35mph during the employee ride Monday night and that didn't shut it down. So I'm talking extreme winds.

Went over with the wife at 1:00 today ate at Pinks, rode Windseeker after 45 min wait. It was nice, great view, nice winds in your face. Scary, not at all.
Rode Dragster after another 45 min wait. "My kind of ride" One of the first riders when it open. Left for home at 3:00. Nice to leave so close.

This was supposed to be a thrill ride. Of course one may be nervous the first time out (nervous is not thrilled), but from nearly every account, so far it seems like CP has installed a wonderful scenic ride that is not very thrilling that, once one gets over the first ride, is just relaxing.

This does not mean I won't enjoy it. Very much looking forward to it, but it was billed as a thrill ride.

CP's flyer has the ride listed as a level 4, not a level 5 ride. So it wasn't a typo after all. BTW I've been out on a sailboat until today and it's been windy enough to require double reefing on a hefty 30 footer.

Looking forward to riding it!

I recorded the first public ride and just watched the playback for the first time, there is one empty seat that is all over the place coming extremely close to the other seats. It's almost scary.

^Jealous...wish I wasn't 3+ hours away in Mi. I've been wanting to jump in the truck and take a day off just to ride it. I've spent a couple of days there earlier in the season and after seeing it in person, I couldn't wait to ride it. It didn't excite me as much until I saw it. Looks fun.

I got my first ride today. I thought it was a very nice ride. Relaxing good breeze, great unobstructed view of the park for an extended period. Not at all disorienting. I like it. The only reason not to ride it would be if you have a problem with heights.

Don't worry, Dragster's still my one and only all time favorite. :) Windseeker is just enjoyable, and that's what I love about it.

Generally you're looking at sustained wind speeds in regards to whether rides operate or not. The occasional guest, within reason, won't shut most rides down, but a sustained wind at or over the recommended rating will.

You mean a sustained guest will. ;)

Some guests might shut a ride down somehow. ;)
