You are either ignorant or a smarta$$.There is NO footing for the electrical system you moron. You try to put words in other's mouths, so here is something for you to chew on, you do not know anything about common sense.
You should maybe take a closer look at the picture CP posted on facebook. It seems kinda odd to dig a hole the size and shape of the ride to bury the electrical lines into if you're going to build the ride next to it.
And looking at the Pagoda Cam (thanks Bill), it appears the foolish man has built his ride upon the sand.

Good catch, Bill! And just in the nick of time, too, given that the WindSeeker cam is all snowed up. :)

I simply stated that the footer for the tower is NOT the hole everyone is talking about.
Based on the new webcam shot Bill alerted us to, I'd say that the footer for the tower is indeed the hole we've been talking about.

Why are you such an ignorant smarta$$?!? ;)

Holy crap. With the new camera view I see what Jugga means about building on the sand. I would imagine that a mat foundation would be good enough for the outer portion of the ride but I can't imagine the tower portion just sitting on the sand. That center hole has to be deeper than the outer portion. Or did they drive piles for that?
When CP showed the original hole for the ride I was wondering about the depth and sand as well. I checked on the KI website to see what they had posted and found much more information concerning the footers. Looks like there are twelve that go 33 feet deep. This is why I miss Tony so much, and why does KI still have a blog?http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/blog/2011/1/5/WindSeeker...update.cfm
No coaster will ever be too fast or too tall!
So the foundation is bigger, to support a tall tower on sand, what if the sand isn't strong enough and we get the Leaning Tower of Windseeker. Now I'm nervous again.
Using the example of a piece of wood and pencil on a table, don't fly with me, because a table, that the wood is on, is stronger that loose sand. But again, I don't know about this stuff.
Hope it don't tip over.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
It looks to me like its all under control, These guys know what there doing. Look at the cam. I see probably a dozen guys in and around the foundation zone and only 2-3 MAYBE working.. that says to me these are real construction workers. they have experience! I mean it takes a lot of practice to stand around and really make it look like your working!
