And this is where KI was (at least visually) about 2 weeks ago, and they are still working.
Of course, it's impossible to tell how close or behind they are to where KI is or was. Clearly, the folks at CP learned some tips from the folks at KI, but the seats are up nonetheless.
We'll be at CP early next week...I hope they at least get the lights turned on so we can stare in awe at the light show. :)
Promoter of fog.
I am impressed by the lighting that I have seen on Windseeker. I took video of KI's last weekend and the damn iPhone I took it on erased it and every other picture I took a long with everything else on the phone for no reason last Sunday morning. You can blame words with friends for that.
The lights are bright. Like wooooah bright in person. The whole thing stood out from the rest of King's Island's mediocre lighting. Cedar Point's should be no different.
By the way, just wrapped up at Kings Dominion. Intimidator has nothing on Millennium Force much to my disappointment. 800 miles for nothin. Next up Holiday World on Friday, Cedar Point Saturday and Sunday

I'm a little confused by your comment with Intimidator. Are you saying Millennium Force is better now than Intimidator 305? That's awesome that your going to Holiday World! Let me know how that goes. I'll be at Cedar Point as well on both Saturday and Sunday as well.

Yep. Millennium Force absolutely trumps Intimidator in so may ways. No over the shoulder restraints is the real reason I say that. I just wasn't left trying to catch my breath like I am on Millennium Force. Don't get me wrong, it's fun.. but maybe the hype was lost on me.
I'm really looking forward to Holiday World. Voyage is my 3rd favorite wooden coaster. It volleys back and forth for 2nd and 3rd with Shivering Timbers and free soda plus sunscreen is always a winner. Holiday World really seems to care about their customers in every facet.
Have been following all 4 projects and CW seems to be furthest along, However, I have yet to see any pics or video with the ride spinning at full speed. I am beginning to wonder about tech difficulties or design flaws with respect to wind conditions and such.
The CWMania sight forum does have a few good links to video of slow spinning and a shot of the carriage at top of tower. There is one forum entry that they discuss the cars swinging in the wind and nearly colliding..... Not good.
Any thoughts?
And "nearly" colliding, isn't colliding. For all we know, the cars were at their limits of articulation and couldn't have gotten any closer without a catastrophic failure of the system.
Kinda like on scrambler. The cars "nearly" collide as part of the normal operation of the ride. It would take a catastrophic failure of the system to cause one to collide with another.
