Why can't we get a fourth dimension "X" coaster?

That's a wrong move on Mantis, kids. Keep you're head forward or it's gonna hurt!

very valid point mr scott that is deffinetly an exception, i forgot about that. mantis is a hit or miss ride, one ride may be great and another may be painful

Mantis hurts somewhere else for me...

I didn't say that my skull was the only thing that was hurt by Mantis.

And I won't mention the other 2 objects that didn't care for the ride.

Rode it once, never again.

I honestly think that "X" was a very smooth ride... I dont recall any real head-banging.

I've only been on X twice, two different trips to Cali for band in highschool. Yeah I think the ride is fun, but it really wasnt worth the 4 hour waits, and that was running there as soon as the park opened. Granted I was there on Memorial Day weekend one of the times, but a ride that can have a 6 hour wait is rediculous.

It would be fun to have, but unless they could get the riders per hour up, I dont see how a park like CP could pull it off without ungodly long lines.

I can't really say because this was first trip, but the wait for X was only an hour and there were two trains running, one loading while the other was in motion.
It was definitely a time consuming load with all the various mechanisms they had to lock you in.
....would I wait 4 hours? Probably...if it were the first time riding, I definitely do not think a wait of 2 hours is unreasonable to experience this. I cannot even begin to describe the experience to my friends, it was unlike anything I've ever done. I have ridden hundreds of coasters and I have to say that X is the only one that has ever scared me to death.....it was nothing short of amazing.
That's why I put this at the top of my point wishlist....I don't know when I'll make it back out to Cali.....but if the point or somewhere else nearby doesn't get one in the next few years....I'm planning another trip out West.

By the way....the trick to Mantis is the bend down/crouch down a little in the loading area. When the train departs and all the mechanisms have locked you can stand up completely without the little guys getting scrunched.

I agree, I think the wait is comparable to Dragster in the sense that if its your first time, I would say upto and including 3ish hours, but after that... maybe 2.

The bumpiness of X also has to do with where you sit. If you sit in the outer seats, it seems to be a little more rough. The inside seats aren't bad at all. Regardless, I agree that it's one of the few "what the hell just happened?" rides out there...

ROUNDABOUND.

Everybody complains about how rough Mean Streak is but i found the secret to M.S. is to lean forward and take your back of the seat. This way your waist and shoulders act like a shock for your head, thus you can concentrate on the ride and not the boooom booom screeeeeeetch as the car whiplashes and grinds the track.

Anyways back on topic. I really dont see a 4d happening. Cp likes to be on the cutting edge and i think they are better of using a compleatly new concept. Just my $0.02

I can see where CP wouldn't want to copy someone and use the latest technology. But I could see CP tring to take a 4D to the max with height and inversions.

I would like another ride like MF and Maggie. The only reason is I love those types of rides. In my opion there the most fun.

Lets remember that even if X didn't have any problems Cp still wouldn't have a 4d for the same reason they dont have a flying or a floorless....Intamin doesn't make one. Thats not to say they won't ever get one but they must have had some multi-ride commitment with intamin. Thats just my theory though maybe some can rebute that.

Does cp have a contract with Intamin, or do they just prefer them over other companies?
