Whuddya think of the name?

The train does look like a Dragster car, and it''l look more like one in real life on the track. The renderings on CP.com make it look like some sort of space sled, but thats just because its wheels are more visible without the track on it.

Electro Blast is/was the dumbest name ever.

I like the name, as to Electro Blast, sounds like somthing you would buy at GNC.

Does anyone think they derived the name "Top Thrill" from the commonly used "Top Fuel". Either way, I am happy with the name and will more then likely just call it dragster.

Take a look at the NHRA [National Hot Rod Association] website report on Top Thrill Dragster:

That seems to be the reason that it is called Top Thrill, however, I know there are a lot of people who don't know anything about drag racing, and they will not get the play on words, and just think the name is stupid.

I'm trying to force myself to say Top Thrill. I'm sure I'll grow on it just like how we all did with Wicked Twister (which I think is just so Canadian).

That's just the standard Press Release... nothing new to see there.

I will get used to it, it does seem like Cedar Point is belittling the general publics intelligence though, with the name “Top Thrill” I mean you only have to look at it to realise what it is, I’m pretty sure you wont get parents taking there 6 year old daughters along with granny on this beast, then after recovering from the gut-wrenching shock complaining that they thought it was a family ride :P
You mean it's not a family ride?

True, the content was "nothing new", but it was interesting that the largest drag racing sanctioning organization was taking note of the name and theming of the ride.

Personally when MF came out I hated the name, same with Wicked Twister. But I have grown to love them as rides not the name in front of them. For the first few weeks after I heard the "Dragster" rumor I just didn't want to believe it, but throught these months i've grown quite accustomed to calling it that. But even then I was hoping that they would do more with the name because "Dragster" just sounded very incomplete to me. So on annoucement morning I was a little stunned but have excepted it for the best because in May when I'm sailing over that tophat it won't matter. Besides what's in a name anyway.

CP had to watch out for copyright names;

topflite is a gulf ball

topgun is a movie

topfuel belongs to NHRA

I do like the "Race For The Sky" thing very clever

could you guys come up with a better name? I like it!!

A better name that I heard on this board was Redline.

But besides that I don't care that much, I like "DRAGSTER" just not "Top Thrill" It is a good theme though.
