Who IS Mean Streak Henry?

If you're going to join the site just to take on someone who has been here for 14 years, you're not going to last very long. Pete doesn't have a grudge toward anyone, but like me, he's largely intolerant enthusiasshattery.

Watch your step, man.

I just don't want to be accused of something that we didn't do... I know Single Riders tend to get a bad rap around here... But not all of us are insensitive idiots. Even Single Rider Bob is a nice guy to talk to, but get him on MF's platform and I don't want much to do with him. I just wanted the facts straight here.

I think the real question is... how in the hell was "White Water Landing" still an available screen name?

All of the Sunday morning regulars, including MS Henry have always been very nice to me, at least that is what I have observed. SR 1 and 2 are coaster addicts for sure and tend to "push through", but I have never witnessed anyone getting knocked down or displaced in a seat during re-rides, just a bit of personal space invasion as they attempt to get to that empty seat. I re-rode Raptor with SR Bob last fall and we had a blast. If someone needed our seat, we just moved to a vacant one and the Ride Op's would count the re-riders and enter it with their counts or turn the turnstile. One of our visits, the ride ops were encouraging re-rides as they needed a minimum number on the train due to the wind and cold. We got 14 rides that morning, 13 without getting off.

Dang. You must have one of those "very expensive" passes that a Raptor ride op told me you have to have in order to get re-rides. Funny how Park Ops didn't quite back that story up when I inquired how to get one of those passes.

Raptor is the only ride I have gotten re-rides on except 2 years ago on bonus Friday on TTD and last fall on MS. They allowed anyone to re-ride, no favoritism, and if you were in a row with someone waiting to get on you had to find an empty seat or get back in line. Hoping to have some good re-ride Sunday early entries this fall again. :-)

I have met Henry about three years ago & I have known him for about 3 years now. He is a very nice guy to talk to & I got to ride with him a few times. He digs his coaster runs hard. I have seen him on how hard he digs on his runs. Way to go Henry on getting your 10000 runs on mean streak.

Whelp. Guess he'll have to be Something Else Henry now.

He talks? I thought he just runs and pushes everyone out of the way to get back on a ride in a hysterical fashion.

He's not the worst one, but he's way up there. I never understood why wearing the same ****ty silk screen in bright Miami Vice colors every time you're at the park was a great idea. There's a reason one of them is known as stinky.

My experience thus far with any single rider t-shirt wearing people is that they are, for lack of any better word complete douches.

On my first ride on Valravn I was in line in front of Gatekeeper Peg. She kept to herself and sang songs to herself, which didn't bother me at all. She was happy. I have also seen Single Rider Bob all but trample folks to get in line for something he had ridden hundreds of times. Mean Streak Henry has always walked around through the line every time I have seen him.

But of course, none of them compare with Rotor Fred from Geauga Lake.

Single Rider 2 is a total jerk, mean streak Henry and single rider Bob are very nice people to talk to and peg keeper keeps to herself.

I need to hear more about this Rotor Fred. I imagine a frazzled looking dude continually riding "Rotor" and becoming more frazzled looking with each subsequent ride, eventually looking like some character from an old Warner Bros. cartoon.

^^ I don't converse with adults who push kids out of their way whilst running like a moron from coaster exit to entrance...

Not going to lie, when I worked at these single riders were among the people I despised the most.

It's cool to see someone passionate about a ride/rides, especially mine, however, there comes a point when it's crazed awkward and annoying obsession. The enthusiasts that would ride, maybe talk to a bit on the platform after, shake a hand, that's cool.

But when you start lapping & getting 10k rides on something and breaking rules or being an overall ass..yeah I don't care for it. Just go to the park, ride rides, and enjoy the atmosphere, that's what it's for.

Also, take showers. There's so many enthusiasts that I see wearing the same clothes & stuff everytime, it looks creepy, we know you didn't wash clothes considering you can see the dirt on it/you, and it's just nasty. One guy I ran into once seriously almost made me puke. It smelled worse than a run down gas station bathroom..disgusting.

Yeah, I can smell these people in the queue line. I feel sorry for the ride ops who get close to these people to check the restraints.

Plus there's a massive sense of entitlement and self importance involved, it seems. Like, I go every year. I go alone, so I'm a single rider. I make it a point to ride the Kiddyland Carousel at least once, and I always choose the white rabbit.

I do not, nor has it ever crossed my mind to, wear a day-glo pink shirt emblazoned with 'WHITE RABBIT JESS' and mow down little kids to ensure I get my bunny.

Worked at GL for 5 seasons post the Rotor bring removed and Fred AKA Rotorman would ride the HayBaler by the Villain. He was quiet and kept to him self. Would take him weeks to warm up enough to ride ops just to get a "hello" from him. But overall he followed our re-ride rules and would exit and walk back around and re-enter the line if we asked him. He never wore a neon green home made shirt to stand out.

I've never had any experiences with some of these self entitled single rider shirt wearing people at Point other then seeing them around and on different ride platforms. Usually just the fact people go to great lengths to stand out weirds me out. I also don't get why other groups of enthusiasts worship them? They're just... off to me.

One of my biggest pet peeves with em too is their ride counts.

"Ermagherd I rode teh coasterz 10,000 times!!!one!"

Ok..first who's counting? You can say whatever you want, lets be honest. Two, like, seriously, why do keep count or care. I NEVER understand why people keep a count of how many times they ride X or Y. You rode a ride, cool. I did too. Then when it hits the media it's even more awkward, like, why are you using that guy as a story ya know?

I agree with the whole enthusiast worship too. Like for some reason I never understood why so many KI fans worship Helbig for riding Racer X times. Like I feel it's pretty stupid that he even did it, and have zero clue why it got the coverage it did. You rode a ride a ton...k.

I'm going to make my three year old niece an ugly neon single rider shirt so that she can push her way through to get on the Snoopy swings at Kings Island. I mean, she had 4 rides in one visit, so I guess at that point she deserves a shirt, a plaque, and some special recognition. I've never seen a kid perform so well at Simon Says.
And lord have mercy if you put your feet on the back of her swing. She'll tattletale on you to the ride ops so quick you won't even know what happened.Yeah, she'll be a celebrity.

I can't imagine keeping count regularly of how many times I've ridden something. I may know how many times I rode on some particular day if there was something special about it but not usually. Last year I kept track of how many times I went to the park and just that was an effort for me. Haven't bothered this year. I do know I rode Millennium Force 15 times in a row during ERT once last year but that's something special and I wasn't the one counting. One of my kids likes numbers.
