Who is going to Coaster Mania?

It will be interesting to see how the park handles the unregistered crowd.

Send them to Ohio Bike Week? Or Colossal Con?

This week is the fusion of motorcycles, cosplay, and roller coasters...only in Sandusky, Ohio!

I can't see how they could let people without tickets in. It's a little different than last year where they required the registration but we still weren't paying an admission. It wouldn't be a good look for the park to charge those of us who followed directions $30 a tickets which were advertised as being limited to 1200 sold, and then allow those he couldn't follow directions in for free or even allow them to buy tickets at the gate. I think in this case, they'll say look for information on next year's event.

On a tangent, did everyone see that we have to bring our club cards and ID with us? Apparently, a lot of people screwed up on the registration and they couldn't have the clubs pre-verify memberships.

So much for streamlining registration.

I'm planning on 6am,then the Pointbuzzers gathering at Coasters at 2:30,then sometime afternoon go to Norwalk/Summit Motorsports Park for Summit's 'Super Summit',then back to the point for until ?. It'll be my 21st consecutive Coastermania.

I'll be there. I'll take a break and watch the shows.

I will be there on Friday. When was the Coaster Mania last year? Will the Roller Coasters and the Thrill Rides be long waiting times?

There have been plenty of warnings for months about the things required to partake in the event. If you got your ticket but failed to scroll down the page to read the policies, I'm sorry, but you have no one else to blame but yourself. He could make a video outlining everything and post it to every conceivable media outlet and to every enthusiast site that is allowed to participate and I guarantee there would still be people showing up without the required credentials. It's going to happen.....no matter what. And there's only so much that they are going to be willing to take as far as excuses go (some maybe being more validated than others). But I will not be surprised if there are people turned around this year.

I'll be there with a family member and also a friend who will be a first timer to CP.

Yanno, something I thought would be very unfortunate is if you signed up for club X a few days prior to going, didn't have a card, but had a ticket and they denied you to get in. Just a thought.

Perhaps but I'd say that most (if not all) clubs stress getting that kind of problem taken care of by allowing for plenty of time to receive ones card. Doing things at the last minute doesn't always yield positive outcomes.

Weve been going since day 1 and will see you all there once again as usual. We are actually hitting up every Six Flags and Cedar Fair park (as well as others) in North America and Canada over the next year and documenting our advetures as well as reviews of each park. Our journey starts today! Just hit the road.

Wife and I are arriving tomorrow early afternoon, doing the partial day at the park then bright and early Friday morning. Last year we hung in there till Midnight, but that was it lol. I got up to 10 rides on Milly for the day, so I was happy lol.
Also, I really hope that the trims on the beach section are off on Maggie ERT like they were last year. Good god it hasn't run that fast and amazing since inaugural year lol! Full trains + no trims = smoooooth for an older lady haha!

And, as others have said, I too suspect there will be some fools who show up playing dumb Friday morning. So sad that in the modern age of readily available information, people have somehow lost the ability to read :(

Be there late Thursday morning! Staying in lighthouse point RV park! 4 of us in campsite! 10 of us for CoasterMania!! Should be a blast!! Staying 2 nights/3days!!

I'll be getting up at 3am. Leave my house 4 at the latest. It's a 1 hr 50 min drive to the park. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Staying up there Friday night.

This would also be foolish since they have said all along they would verify coaster club memberships. I remember someone asking Tony on Twitter if they could get CM tix and then join a club a few days later, he said not to wait.
