Where could they build Coasters in the Future?

They'll build you what ever you want. If it's vertical -G's you like than that's what you'll get.

And I do like the sound of putting the next scream machine somewhere in the vicinity of Demon drop. Even if you have to relocate or remove it.

Take a spin on Wildcat at hershey, more air than Blue Streak. My No. 1 wood.

"Wheres the Callahan factory?!?!?"

Where is all this space that CP has? Unless rides are intertwined or the parks goes beyond the gates or into camper village,by looking at those satellite photos,I don't see where any more huge scale type rides could go. I mean, look at their last two coaster (counting Draggie),they are small scale rides compared to what was put in previous to 2000. I just don't see long rides being built anymore. Compact intense rides seem to be their new way of going, should be interesting to see what happens over the next few years.
Ok, I am going to try to bring us back just one more time.

This topic is about where they should put the next ride/coaster. It isn't about CP running out of room.

Let's be creative here. That old argument has been around since before Raptor and, since then, they have added Mantis, Power Tower, Millennium Force, Camp Snoopy and now #16. (Was Snake River Falls in there somewhere too?)

What area of the park needs a weenie? (Term developed by Walt Disney to describe an attraction that will draw guests towards it.)

Since the trail is sort of the "water rides" area, given Thunder Canyon, White Water and Snake River, how about a water coaster over there as well?

Actually, I think the water rides are too "bunched up". I would have spread them out a bit more. On hot days, that area of the park becomes a magnet. On cool nights, there is absolutely no reason to be over there. Giving someone a reason to be over there (as in, with a coaster) would be a great idea.
But Brian, I think that is the point...to draw the guests into one area of the park to cool down. It frees up the lines for some of the coasters in the front.

But, on topic...I agree that a good place for another coaster would be Frontier Town. Because it's primarily water rides, and our poor unappreciated Mean Streak, that section of the park could use a pick me up.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

I guess there are two trains of thought on "bunching up" the water rides. If they are all together (as they now are) you keep all of the wet people and their lockers in one location. As much as I enjoy those rides, I don't care for seeing people running all around in bathing suits (with a few exceptions).

The other thought is Brian's which is to say there could be cooling off rides in other areas of the park.

I do think a "water coaster" would address these issues and a nicely themed one could go in on the west end of the trail.

A water coaster might work there. I enjoyed Atlantis at Sea Wold Orlando. To comment on CP's new coasters being compact and short...I think a coaster can be pretty long and compact at the same time. Just think of flying by many supports.Just check out Joker's Jinx. That is a compact coaster! (pic).CP could have done more with #16, and made it compct had they wanted too! What about an arrowbatic? It could be a family friendly one. I could possibly see that where oceana and Ocean motion is. Or by the water rides! That sounds cool!

CP could do what WOA did with The Villian. A wood coaster with a metal frame. I do agree with the fact that woodies take many views away. I hope a woodie is in CP's plans.

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

I always thought a small wild mouse type ride inside of Meanstreak would work. Not sure if there is enough room for it, but take out all of the unused que lines and it might. Or even use them for the que for the wild mouse type coaster. That would also help out Meanstreaks overall rider numbers.

Cedar Point is the best at ride placement and creating nice, compact, major coasters. With steel coasters, all you really need is station and line space and the rest really does not take up all that much room. Also, steel coasters are much easier to manipulate where they go and what supports are needed. I can envision a coaster flying around and over #16''s launch and brake runs one day.

I think a woodie will go on the beach by WT sometime in the future. They could also put a coaster back by White Water Landing. Its been a few months since I was at the Point, so my memory is slacking, but there are more than a few other places where coasters could go.

Think outside the box and be a little creative and you might be surprised where you could fit more coasters. These spots also will create much more coaster to coaster interaction making for more exciting rides. And one last note, it is obvious Cedar Point is not afraid to make a major change to midways and existing attractions, so this leads me to believe CP will look quite a bit different ten years from now.

Wow. This is starting to look like an Urban Planning thread...
The current site of Peanuts Playground seems most logical to me. That area is bigger than you would ever think and could store a B&M-sized coaster. I've always thought a parking gararge for Hotel Breakers would free up a ton of space. As far as a wooden coaster, how about Frontier trail that crosses over onto MF Island...somehow working around the train.
As a parent of two small children, one of whom is still too small to enjoy most of Camp Snoopy, I'd be disappointed to see PP disappear. Even though it is right on the main midway, it manages to be "away" from much of the bustle of the park without having to walk all the way up to the frontier trail.

Um, it's called a railroad crossing. Cedar Point already has two of them. One is located by first station of CP and LE railroad, seperating the main midway from the frontier trail. The other one is located near the second station, near Meanstreak, which separates the Frontier Trail from Frontiertown.

Anyway, I think it would to have a watercoaster over in that Frontiertown area that could go over perimeter road and even into Lake Erie! Just imagine it: Cedar Point stretching the border!

Thee are 3 railroad crossings. The one that seperates Gemini Midway from Frontiertown is the third.

And Micheal Darling, How do you know about this monorail deal? Who is your Uncle? ;) ROTFLMAO

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

I always thought that Cedar Point needed a very large coaster that would "trace" the whole peninsula. The entire circuit could be built extremely high off the ground, and supports could be placed all over the park. The lift hill could be back by the water rides. It could "sweep down" anytime it got near one of the existing coasters' first drops, so it wouldn't destroy the skyline. I've daydreamed about it for years, thought I'd share....
That would be neat Macho but the cost for something like that would be astronomical...

we could always hope though...

I think the next logical place for CP to build a coaster would be back in Fronteirtown. Take out the Antique cars (since we already have Cadillac Cars up front...think Dodgems last year, why do we need two of the same ride?) and expand over to the old Carousel location, next to the Wave Swinger. Think about it...
How about over Lake Erie?

How about not.
