What's with the new format?

Post counts are still there.

And if DJ calls 10 seconds fast (and we're not talkin about a fat guy 10 yard dash) then he needs to re-evaluate his definition of "fast". ;)

Apparently, user profiles that one has already clicked on are very fast (load before roll-down completes), while 'new' profiles are not. Makes sense, sorta...

Just a few things:

1. The login boxes for username/password have very pale borders. I had to adjust my screen to even seen which box I was typing in. Just make them like the reply boxes and it would be good.

1A. Speaking of borders, the borders of each post are also very pale. Its hard to see them. Maybe make them the color of the signature border?

2. Can you bring back the specific page selection for topics longer than one page?

3. I find the main forum and individual topic listings are strange. It just feels like a big waste of space with the font so big. I reduced the font size 2 steps with my browser and it looked much better. Can you shrink the titles and also the "CP Forum > General > What's with the new format?" headers and footers on each page? I have a high resolution monitor, but only a few topics fit on my screen at a time. Just generally make each row shorter so more can be seen at once.

4. The Youtube style dates are annoying. It's a personal preferance but I would rather see exactly when a post was made (12/13/07 12:00pm). Especially when we start getting way out there. "Posted 2 years ago". Ok... but when? June, January? You see? FakeEDIT: Actually, looking at some older posts now, it seems to change to that (I think, it might just be the older posts don't have that feature). If so, nevermind.

Ok, here is two bugs.. my line breaks didn't work when I first made the post with the quick reply box. Looking at my account options, I had "Always use plain text box" checked. I guess the plain text box doesn't do line breaks. Also, even though I have that checked, the edit page uses the dynamic box.

Post counts aren't gone. Click on the username to get the profile information. It shows Posts right under Location and Join date.

I think he means on the actual post box.

The most important question here is, why do post counts really matter to people?

I'd rather enjoy an intelligent conversation with someone that has 1000 posts, or even 100 posts, than have someone constantly chime in on everything and say "NO WAYE SEEDER POINTE IS DA BESS!", and wind up with 5,000.

Just my .02, but I didn't even notice they were gone. I usually associate people by avatar, so this is really screwing me up. :-D

I absolutely love the orange color, though it makes it a little more obvious when browsing at work.. hehe.

If forum counts are important to you (and by the way, if you haven't been reading, they're still around), this is the wrong forum for you. I don't much care for people who post a lot but say very little.

The rich/plain text stuff should work correctly now.
