Heh, Marcy, you showed up on GTTP. Yeah, I made some pretty good lists of stuff for people to take around the start of last season. The lists are above. I may see you and Tyler from Niemeyer on Saturday! We're getting there rather early, I think.

"Chaser" is just a gimmick. Although I'm not certain what it is, my best guess would be a caffeine pill with some vitamins. Caffeine, however, will do nothing to cure a hangover. It'll give you some energy, sure, but it won't cure that pounding headache, because dehydration is the primary cause of hangovers.

Alcohol is a diuretic. Ever notice you have to use the bathroom not long after a few drinks? That's why. Now, that in itself wouldn't be so bad, but increased bathroom usage of the first degree also means less water being absorbed, which can (and usually does) lead to dehydration. Caffeine is also a diuretic, so really, you might get a little boost from the coffee, but it will make your hangover worse in the long run.

The best way to stay ahead of the booze is to drink some fruit juice before hand (there are some electrolytes that aid the liver in the breaking-down of alcohol - turning into a less-poisonous form) BUT most importantly, to drink plenty of water while you're pleasantly inebriated. I'm always surprised how much a few glasses of water after a night of drinking, but before I go to sleep, help in the morning.

I wouldn't waste you money on "Chaser". Drink some fruitjuice and have fun. Drink responsibly ;).

I agree don't waste your money i think it's all a mental thing. You take it so you menatally think you are not going to have a hangover so in the morning you just think you don't. Man i hope that make sence. Well it did in my head aleast

That is so true. My best friend and I discovered that tactic a couple of years ago. It's unbelievable how much it makes a difference.

I also concur with drinking a lot of water. The first time I drank to excess (about a half a fifth of SoCo in two hours) I was messed up beyond belief, but I then drank an equal amount of water, and I didn't feel very bad the next day.

those pills are all bull****, they tell you to take them then drink like 6 glasses of water. The water is what cures your hangover not the pills. They are a big joke.
i've never had a hangover...

and i don't recall drinking any water in excess...

maybe i'm just blessed

if you've never had a hangover then you've never really drank the way we do at cp
Drink 10 full sips of water per drink you had before you goto bed. If you had 6 beers, have 60 sips of water. When you wake up (to go piss) drink another quarter of what you did before going to bed.

A year after starting to do this, I can honestly say the only hangover i had was the time i forgot to drink the water.

Trust me, its tough doing 40, 50, 60 sips.. but you'll be thankful in the morning. (and not late for work thanks to your bladder alarm clock)

I should have listened to my own tip. I was only here for five days before I ran out of money. I brought the things I thought I needed and still spent $50 on supplies. Then there is louie's. Time can fly when your having fun and don't drink cheap beer. If you like bud light or lite beer ignore this part. Bring an open attitude. I have witnessed more drama in the last week than I have seen in the last year.
Regarding your last sentence...oh joy. We're going to try to keep that away from Magnum as much as we can this summer...
