Thanks for the tip arearew. My car is packed and now I have to find room for sandals.
I would say money. It takes a while to get paid and food isn't free. Anyways I leave in 14 hours! yaaaaa hooooo! Let the summer begin.
Heh. Sorry. Well bring all of the obvious stuff, clothes, an alarm, showering stuff and a basket to keep it in...

... but do NOT forget the sandals.

Just bring some basic stuff. Some warm clothes because may is gonna be cold, shower stuff, alarm clock. Don't bring a lot if you don't have to. You aren't going to be around your room long. I know i'm bringing an mini-fridge because i don't plan on eating anythign from CP this summer....yea i'm gonna bring my own meals in. We'll see how long that lasts. Like Derek said, food is expensive.

After two years of working at CP, i have learned that it is very important to bring a desk or clip on lamp. That way when you come in late or have to get up early in the morning you will not disturb your roommates as much when they are sleeping other then turning on all those freakin bright lights. Thats my 2 cents on what to bring.

Food is expensive?? I thought the food in the cafe and rec center was pretty cheap.

"Hey Somebody"

Richard,

From what I've read (posted elsewhere on these boards by former CP employees), you can eat well in the employee cafeteria for $3-$4. That isn't bad, considering what you get for the same money inside the park or even at a fast food restaurant. However, buying your own food is still cheaper. Poptarts for breakfast cost about 50 cents instead of 3 bucks, a couple of sandwiches costs considerably less, etc.

Hope that clarifies :)

BLAH the food is not expensive at the park. I always load up on bread and sandwich stuff from the Meijer store though, that's even cheaper.

Food costs really aren't a concern.

Mikela, you must just be starting out, I've never seen you - have you started work yet?

Fast food is pretty cheap outside the park, especially since most fast food places give CP employees 10-20% off.
That reminds me, the Pizza Hut buffet bar throws down!

I have three homes, college, home and Cedar Point. Each has at least three alarm clocks. I am bringing my computer this year there is 5 computers in the rec center and none are really ever available, so I am bringing my own. Don't forget the sandles, I know someone that didn't have them and got the nastiest fungus, foot condition ever and he still has it.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't showed up more this off-season. Last year it just wouldn't go away...which is a good reference for the newbies of this year.

Check out these threads:

In the first, Lee gives a rather comprehensive list of essential items that you need and others you might not think of bringing.

In the second, she outlines some of the do's and don't's while living at Cedar Point.

If you don't want to read all of the threads, just scroll down to her posts.

Will Foamy become the next Strong Bad? I guess we will find out...

Caution: Foamy isn't quite as "PC" as Strong Bad.

ok I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Everyone is telling you the basic things but I'm going to tell you the essentials that others won't. CP is a wild summer so if you plan on partying bring plenty of condoms and aspirin. There will be MANY late nights and early mornings. Bring some sort of aerosol spray and something to make your shoes smell good because when it rains at cp your shoes will not smell so good and you don't want to smell up your room. Bring a mini fridge, it is essential if you drink or eat your own food in your room. However, the burritos and hot pockets always serve as nice drunk food and they sell those in the common store. Most importantly bring a good attitude because you're about to have the best summer of your life. CP is a great place and you'll meet a lot of amazing people.
I believe there is a drug out now that take care of hangovers. Does anyone know the name of it?

It's called Chaser, me and my friends were just talking about it a few nights ago. I have no idea if it works or not, I haven't found reason to try it.
