I was sad when we were told we could not have swords, because what's a pirate without a weapon? And the foam ones, I ask why they even exist.I had thought about bringing a metal flask and acting drunk, since we are not allowed to have glass, which is quite understandable, only I couldn't find a metal one anywhere.
Overall though, it did good and I enjoy the fact people loved it and kept coming back.
I have a metal flask you can use next year for a prop, if you plan on returning to Terror Island.
As for the swords, I wondered the same thing while all the screamsters were getting hit constantly by the light-up swords the kids had and even some adults had.

Man how I hate those stupid light up swords all the kids have. You can't imagine the hatred that exists for those things until you've gotten one (or several) up the ol' blow hole. I chewed a merchandise employee out hardcore when I overheard that his sales pitch was "buy a sword to protect yourself from the Screamsters."
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Chainsaws? Why can't CP use chainsaws?
I would assume it is because of insurance reasons. As someone who creates Haunted Attractions for a living I have seen multiple insurance companies just flat out deny coverage if there is an actual chain saw in use.
There are some companies out there that make NICE fake chain saws for haunts, these look, sound, and feel like the real thing, but no moving parts.
And of course there are plenty of bad fake ones out there also. lol

I remember when that happened! I also remember when I scared a kid so bad he fell down (knockdown) and snapped his sword in 3 pieces!!! I laughed my a** off! :)

That merch employee was lucky there wasn't a mob of screamsters going after him. I'm sure if we had all known about his little sales pitch, he would have become much more intimate with what he was selling.
Don't call me a "scare actor", I'm a Screamster
Most local haunts just take the chain off and use that. Anythin can be better than what they use now. I think flame throwers would be awesome! :)

Negative. Its because one person at Cedar Point does not like the smell created when used. Because of this, they are not used. Other Cedar Fair parks use them and have no problem.
And yet the Antique cars are still around.....

yea seriously I'd love to see some real chainsaws in use but then again Iv also been to a house were the guy bumped into me with it and it was pretty hot. Now I know nothing about chainsaws but if there is a way that they keep them cool enough for a guest to accidentally bump into and not get burned. I know at other Cedar Fair parks such as Knotts is a really big honor to have a chainsaw. Lightsabers do stink but I remember getting those little basket balls thrown at my head I bet those are still over there haha.

Does anyone have an idea what will be taking place at Red Garter this year?
Probably a lot of drinking...as for entertainment?? Nope :)
I've never been to a non-Halloweekends show at the Red Garter, but I do love stopping in for an adult beverage to check out the Monsters Rock/Nights of Darkness show.
Always cheesy 80s-90s rock.
Always a good time.

Terror Island did an amazing job I thought, for it's first year, and I don't see it going anywhere for a long time. It could use some improvements, like everything else. I'd like to see some more character among the screamsters.

I don't know that I've ever seen a flask that wasn't metal. Just stop at any gas station. They sell flasks, made of metal.

Go to Spencer's Gifts, they have a metal one with a skull and crossbones on it that says POISON. Its pretty nice, I was thinking about getting it myself.

Id really like to see a pirate ship in the water by terror island. even if its a paddle boat just decked out in Halloween stuff. ya know like prop cannon, angry pirates. I bet you could use a lot of the stuff from the old pirate ride.

^ It would be cool if they some how transformed the floatable bridge into a pirate ship. The bridge already moves when people walk on it, it would have the same effect as if you were on a boat. Just inclose it and make both the interior and exterior of it look like a pirate ship. That would probably draw more of a crowd.

I really like the scare zones and they should stay. I really enjoy most things on halloweekends. The only things I think they should get rid of are those pesky mermaids on pirate island!!
^I think that all of them are great too. The only one I don't like is Pharaoh's Secret, although surprisingly, that always seems to be the one where I jump the most, since there are so many loud noises. It is still my least favorite though. The other oldest two are Fright Zone and Undertaker U., which personally I would hope that neither of them would go this year. The park needs a good, not theme-specific walk through, and Fright Zone is exactly that, so even though it's still not as intense as when it first opened, it's still one of the best and I don't really think the park should get rid of it. And I hope that Undertaker U. isn't removed either, because it is my personal favorite HalloWeekends attraction. It has a cool theme and layout, and still is pretty scary. I would really miss it! Other than those two, all of the rest of the attractions are newer (CarnEVIL and Fear Faire are somewhat new), so I don't think any of them will be on the chopping block. So, I think that really the only one that should be removed is Pharaoh's Secret, and the others should stay or be updated.
