What should come and go for Halloweekends?

One of the coolest memories I have at the park is from a few years ago on the 2nd to last Sunday of the season. There used to be a slow and relaxing yet still kind of eerie song on the Halloweekends soundtrack with a woman vocalizing. It was a warm, sunny, uncrowded morning and I got into the park a few minutes after the start of ERT. Raptor was down so I guess everyone went to Millennium or TTD because there was nobody in sight other than a guy working on Raptor's midcourse.

That moment on the main midway was just so peaceful and perfect. It was very fitting for being nearly the end of the season. I haven't heard the song on the sountrack in at least a year or two, which is a bummer because it definitely seemed to set the right mood for that Halloweekends atmosphere. I also remember the same song sending a chill down my spine while walking through a desserted Frontier Town after the park closed back when the Screamsters used to be based in the Jitney Arcade.

Okay put on a clean pair of pants and lets get back to the future not your past memories of you alone in the park haha.

11 years.

I would like to see a song or anouncment come over all the speakers in the park when it hits 8. or possibly having zombo have some sort of mix for when we start.

Sort of like KI's opening. On Friday and I think I remember hearing it Saturday night too, they blast Monster over the entire park to signal opening.

like the word "monster" or like a song.

Having the pregame rally by the fountain was definitely a great new thing for last season. The Screamsters have always done this in private (and still have one in the ballroom before going down to the fountain) to get pumped up for the night. It's great to get share the enthusiasm and excitement with the crowd. :)

Ralph if your thinking of the song I am try "Goodnight Moon" by Shivaree

^^ "the pregame rally" Do you fellow screamsters think we will still meet at the same spot, by the new fountain this year. Since the new fountain is more interactive and has benches, do you think we'll get larger crowds when/ if we go out there?

Id like to hear static x , the only through zombos speakers by haunt central. I really think it would be cool, and since there's no swearing I wouldn't see it being a major prob.

There use to be that a fw years ago in CarnEvil when it was back in its old spot. We had a spiel going with a light shining on our ringmaster mouthing the words. And all the Screamsters would be out in the zone standing dead still and as soon as the cymbals smashd we scatterd.

One of my favorite Halloweekends memories is a few years back being on the normal Frontier Trail at 7:59 and then having the area completely transform at 8:00. Ever since then whenever I got to Halloweekends I always try to make sure that we are back there when the fun starts.

That would be pretty neat to experience something like that in Fright Zone.

I wish we could do what they do at Knott's Scary Farm. I was watching some videos on YouTube of some of their Monsters just roaming around the midways scaring people. And they actually get to use chainsaws and everything like that. Its a shame how we have to use little FOAM swords on the island, but yet Fear Faire can use large hard plastic swords and other weapons. Anybody else a little irritated by this? And I think CP should allow Screamsters to scare on the midways... just to a certain extent where you dont go to far by scaring certain people.

I would love to do that also, but in order for that to happen, I think CP would have to make Halloweekends a separate admission for the day. Close the park at 6:00 and re-open at 8:00 for Halloweekends scare zones. I believe that's what Knott's, King's Island, and HHN in Universal do for their haunts. Does anyone else know if that is the case?

Kings Island does not close, and the Haunt is free, but there are signs warning parents that after 7pm the park is for "mature audiences only." The kid Howl-O-Fest pretty much wraps up by 6, and Nick U closes then too and then at 7 boom the Haunt starts.

Although I prefer what they do on Friday, when you arrive for opening the park's metal gates are closed and at 7 "Monster" starts and then all the Screamsters in Outdoor Zones (which dont open until 8) are right past the ticket scanners. Pure fun.

I think if Knotts can do it, why cant Cedar Point? Seriously, they're sister parks and should use the same methods. If CP wants to get up there on the charts for the best Halloween event for amusement parks, they need to take after Knotts since they're #2. We need more intense methods for Halloweekends!!! Heck, even Kennywood is better than Halloweekends at #3! Do you know what Halloweekends is ranked... #8.

The reason why we can't scare people on the midway is because Cedar Point is a family park. I would love to see the screamsters be able to expand thier ability to scare. Start going to the lines of roller coasters and create the mood of halloween.

King Island was much the same way we are till they changed over to the haunt. It was called fear fest I believe before and then all that changed. One other thing you have to remember is the admission at knotts and KI is very very high because of the populated cities by them. Sandusky is in the middle of no were compared to Knotts and KI. Knotts and KI can still maintain a very high attendance level with little to no families as if Cedar Point did that It may be harder.
