I don't think that the attendance is bad, i just always look on ways to improve it. I do think it is slightly rundown though. My complaints are the theming, the handrails to the entrance to the slides, the landing into the pool on some of the slides, the lazy river never being clean (leaves and twigs), the park never get anything new, and it is overpriced. I think these things could be improved. They could spruce it up a bit and add a little color, fix the wooden handrails (safety issue), the landings in some of the slide pools (safety issue), and just add a bit of fun theming. Could someone explain to me what the theming is?

Ok, not that I want to get into this argument again and divert this thread way off topic but I do want to point out a few things. First is the themeing. Soak City does not have a theme so it is not really something they can improve. They can however introduce a theme but I don’t see how adding a few fake palm trees or a few more surfboards will add to the experience.

This is something I will agree on but the park IS fixing these areas. They have been for the past three years and are adding completely new stairs to the slides on the older section of the park. The landings in the pools are something that is continually being replaced as well.
the lazy river never being clean (leaves and twigs)
Please don’t be one of those people who complains about something that is out of the control of the park. You do realize that 80% of the lazy river is under trees, right? It is impossible, not nearly, but IS impossible to keep it 100% clean all of the time. Wind blows, leaves fall, twigs float. These items wont kill you. Go to any water park that has landscaping around its pools, they are never free of foliage.
the park never get anything new, and it is overpriced.
Soak City probably won’t see anything new until attendance starts to slip. Why fix something that isn’t broke? At this point there is no reason to add another giant slide.
As for the price, I consider it to be reasonable for the amount you get to do. I have been to many water parks all over the US. Most are about half the size of Soak City with a similar or higher admission. For comparison, Soak City in Palm Springs is $25 and has 1/3 of what Soak City at Cedar Point offers for just $5 more.
Could the water park stand some new paint, updated signs, and maybe some new umbrellas? Sure but the exact same can be said for Cedar Point and much more around the property.
I am not picking on you and not “starting something”, I just get annoyed when people jump all over Soak City because of one or two bad visits on a busy day or pick out problems that can also be found inside Cedar Point.
Whose idea is it that CP would honestly EVER consider giving up charging for soda?
Free soda would not only be unprofitable (compared to consumers paying $3.79 or whatever per fill at any spot they go to in the park or $3 at the vending machines), but increased garbage to take care of.
Everyone would stop and get a soda in between every ride...just because they could.
I honestly feel thankful we can get free ice water. Its free....and refreshing.
Yeah, Holiday World would never have gone out of business had they not been doing free soda for the last decade. Oh wait...

I don't see what the problem is with the prices. When you run a business you put prices out that will make you money, and the people will pay them. Even if they are a little high. Simple solution instead of complaining about the prices and hoping to see free pop is just bring your own drinks and food in your car. When you're hungry take a break and go out to the car and eat. Just because you're at the park doesn't mean you have to buy the stuff. I've gone there countless times for the whole and not spent money on food or drink the entire time there, just brought our food. It's a nice break to get out of the park for a while on a long day. So, solution to the problem...bring your own food and drinks, walk out to your car and take a break from the park and it will save you money.

Just what a park general manager hates to hear!
It is possible to get an unlimited drinks wristband for free at Cedar Point...1 wristband is now included with a VIP ticket. So there ya go, add $330 to your ticket and the drinks are on the house! Oh, and the VIPs get a bag of chips too! I'm not sure what that's worth yet - haven't tried their chips. 8)

Cedar Point is going to paint MaxAir for 2010. My question is, have pics been posted on the blog or haven't they posted them yet?

In what way is Holiday World equivalent to Cedar Point?
He's a busy person, he'll get them up. There's no deadline so just be patient. Even if he didn't post them, you'll see it in all it's glory come opening day. :)

I think I can answer this one for you. They're not. However, Holiday World was brought up simply to prove a point on raising admission prices a few dollars and then offering free drinks to all those with paid admission. It was an just example on the basis of serving free beverages, nothing else.
I know another way Holiday World is equivalent to Cedar Point. I don't know how much Holiday World's admission price is, but I do know this. Both Holiday World and Cedar Point have a great family atmosphere.
Getting back to what else is new, Bay Harbor has a new fire pit on the patio.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I think it was at the end of the season but wasn't it new last year?
Hmmm... You know, I didn't see it last year so I assumed it was new this year. But, maybe it was installed in late fall 2009?

Looking @ the most recent blog, Millennium Force does not look like it recieved any new paint. They have already placed to blue train back on the track, which I think makes it pretty safe to say if they didn't paint they are not going to do it after the trains are on. It is a shame because it is a great ride and the color looks horrible, one of the worst at Cedar Point ... especially for only being 10 years old. It's funny because if you remember what it looked like when it was new in 2000, the color doesn't even resemble what it was.
